Pet care experience
Ive been taking care of dogs for neighbors and friends since my early teens. I moved to Iowa 3 years and have loved spending time with other people's pets and showing them love since I moved here! Im comfortable with all ages/sizes of dogs as long as they are not overly aggressive.

Mikayla is responsive to my contacts, and a very nice lady! And, she definitely likes and loves puppies. I got home from my trip, and found things in good order. However, I do wish I would have received more comments by text, or on the notepad I left, about their day. Like a diary of their walks, etc..., as I had requested. Like the frequency, and length in time or distance, and details of their time together. I am probably just a high maintenance pet parent 😂, and I will consider using her again.

Mikayla watched my dog for the new years weekend. She did a great job! Communicated her arrival and departures. Came over ahead of time to meet Blake. Much appreciated being able to get away for the weekend knowing my pooch was in good hands.
Mikayla was great. Our dogs were happy and well cared for the entire time we were gone. We would 100% use her again!

I don't take care of pets in my home, but am happy to at yours. Im ok with pup sitting during the day, or overnights. I can spend a good portion of the day home with your dog, and provide walks and exercise. I am happy to check mail, bring in packages, water plants, and other light chores that need to be done to take care of your home while you are away.

Please let me know any specific details or behaviors about your dog ahead of time, if relevant. Ex. Not potty trained, not allowed on furniture, medications/medical conditions, allergies, doesn't interact well with other dogs or people on walks, scared of storms/vacuum cleaners, etc. Anything I should know about your fur baby! I am happy to work with all pups, but it helps to know ahead of time so that I can be prepared to provide them with the best care.
A typical day
A lot of my day is working from home, so I will be able to keep your dog a lot of company. I love to go on walks, explore neighborhoods, and go to nearby parks. If your dog has a favorite spot not in walking distance, I don't mind taking them on a car ride :). When the weather is nice, I love to spend time hanging out with the dogs outside on the porch or in the backyard while I work on my computer. I am young and active and can always accommodate to your dogs daily needs.

Availability
I work full-time, but my job is hybrid and flexible. I work with a non-profit that has chapters on college campuses in Iowa. I am away from home for a few hours each day Monday-Thursday during scheduled visits with chapter leaders and meetings within the community, but work from home outside of that, so I have a lot of flexibility to work with pet owner's schedule and their needs. I am in graduate school at Drake, but I am fully online, so there are no scheduling conflicts. I occasionally have overnight trips, which I always make note of in my availability calendar. Always feel free to ask if you have any questions.
