Pet care experience
I have always been an animal lover, and I allowed this love to steer my early professional life. Prior to leaving for college, I worked at Highway Veterinary Hospital (HVH) as a veterinary assistant. My time at HVH taught me how to read and respond to a pet's body language, how to comfort a fractious or nervous pet, and hours of practice in butt scratchies :) I am a student at LUC — what better way to take a break from homework than to hang out or stroll with your fur baby?! On a walk, dogs will ALWAYS walk on the opposite side of the traffic. I am attentive to your pet the duration of our walk, meaning I will not touch my phone (unless heaven forbid there is an emergency) until they are safely back in your home. Lastly, if in your home with your pet, the pet and I will always be in the same room, such that I can keep an eye on your fur baby.

Mikayla is the best dog sitter I've ever had and will never want to change her!! She does a great job helping with my two 80lb Great Pyrenees girls, and they LOVE her. And when I say love, I mean it - once they meet her in a street, they start jumping around and bark out of joy. I trust Mikayla with everything and I know she will give a right judgment on anything, so I am not overthinking about my dogs and just have peace of mind. And tell me who doesn't need that?! Kind of last minute booking and Mikayla still made time to do a meet and greet with Alan. She walked him at the agreed time and sent photos. This was my first time using the app and will totally book her again when I need her.
Mikayla was the best rover I’ve ever hired. She was so flexible with my constantly changing schedule, understanding and went above and beyond. I felt I could relax being gone knowing the kitties were in good hands. So happy
Mikayla is so great and my dog Amani loves her. She handles his dog reactivity so well and I know he is in good hands with her!

A typical day
I have explored most of Rogers Park on foot while walking pups… I know the best spots for sniffing! I like to stick to the more quiet streets in the neighborhood, and I find that the pups appreciate this :)
