Pet care experience
As a child, I grew up in a household with multiple animals and new someday I would want to be a dog mom myself. When I first moved to Charlotte in 2021 and started working professionally, I knew it was time for me and my fiancé to find our forever fur baby. We brought home a golden doodle puppy in the summer of 2021, and since then added another golden doodle puppy to our family in the summer of 2022. While I may not have special skills within this industry, I know the amount of energy, dedication, and love I have put into raising two energetic and rambunctious puppies and understand what it means to love a dog with my whole heart, unconditionally. My family and friends would describe me as punctual, organized, and professional. They would also say I am kindhearted, loving, and dedicated to meeting the needs of others.

Another amazing stay with Mikahla for our boy, Baker. We requested her help last minute and she pulled through. This is Bakers 4th or 5th time with her and her fiancé (and two adorable pups) and we are so grateful to them! They’re such good people and awesome communicators. Baker sprints to their door and forgets his mom and dad exist every time we drop him off, ha!
Mikahla was great! She was very attentive and caring towards my dog, Reiki. She updated me daily and was very responsive. Reiki missed her for the rest of the day after pickup. We will definitely be reoccurring clients of Mikahla!

I am able to welcome dogs of all shapes and sizes into my own home as if they were my own, where they would have access to a fenced in back yard and be able to socialize with my fur babies. I also live with an area that allows me to easily get out of the house and walk pets around my neighborhood to get their daily exercise in. My pets are crated trained and are walked on a leash to keep them safe at all times, so I would do the same for pets I am keeping. If I were caring for pets in my clients home, I would respect their wishes and treat their pets as if they were my own, because I would want them to do the same if roles were reversed. I would frequently check in with my clients, send pictures and updates, and ask questions as needed.

A typical day
I love to let the dogs run freely in our backyard (supervised, of course) or walks around our neighborhood. I love rewarding good behavior with homemade frozen treats & lots of love!

Availability
I just started working for a new company (August 2023), and I won’t have the flexibility to come home throughout the day and/or work from home as needed. If I am boarding a dog with me throughout the week, they will be crated to keep them & my two dogs safe. I spend most of my week nights and weekends at home as my fiancé works in the sporting industry and works quite a bit during my "off" hours giving me the extra time to spend with your fur babies.
