Loving your dog as if they are mine
Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs and had roommates with dogs in college. In college I would watch friends and acquaintances dogs due to the flexibility in my class schedule. I love all dogs and would eventually like to have one of my own. I have always been on the more logical side though and am currently renting in the Roaring Fork Valley. I have found that it is easier to find rent in most places without a furry companion. So whenever I can get the opportunity I love watching friends, coworkers, family and acquaintances dogs! I truly wish that I could have one of my own at this time but am patiently waiting to eventually own a place of my own and can then do so. In the meantime I would love to watch anyone's dog and love on them as if they were my own.

Mikaela babysat my lively pup while I was away for the weekend. When I got back he seemed happy and tired, maybe even a little sad to leave her! I will be having Mikaela dog-sit again. :)
I have known Mikaela for 27 years and she is an animal lover from day one. She loves dogs and would love to have one of her own someday but with her work schedule and school she isn’t able to have one. Mikaela has taken care of several people’s dogs and they love how she takes care of them as they are her own . Unfortunately since she moved from Fort Collins she is unable to watch them. One person pays her extra to take vacation days so she can take care of their dogs as they trust her that much. Mikaela is the most honest person and compassionate. When you meet her you will see what I am talking about. Many people are happy to have her as their friend and a dog sitter.
Mikaela was amazing with our dog Fannie - Fannie still sees her in my office and jumps for joy! She was responsive, attentive, and loving. Mikaela sent pictures and I had no worries in the World! She makes me feel comfortable leaving town again.
Mikaela has watched my pup Milo a few times. She has always kept me up to date on how Milo is doing while we are gone, and sending us lots of cute update pictures. She has a lot of knowledge about caring for pets and Milo always has a great time with her. Highly recommend!

I am not allowed to have pets at my current rental. If needed I could bring them to my rental for the day if they are well behaved. However, I do prefer the your home if possible. Every pet is different so please let me know, if your pet is better on or off leash, if they have any specific commands or what they need to feel most comfortable while you are away. I am very flexible and open to what may be needed.

Please let me know if they have any specific commands or routines that they are used to. How often they get fed? Do they get along with other dogs? Are they good on and off leash? Is there anything that they will get into: shoes, socks, the trash? How often do they usually walk or are exercised throughout the day?
A typical day
I like to take dogs on long walks if they can handle it or hikes around local trails that allow dogs. If the dog is good off leash I like to throw the ball or stick for the dog at the park. If they love water I live right next to the river and enjoy throwing the stick for the dog in the river. If they are good with other dogs I have friendly dog friends that they would get a long great with!

Availability
I am currently working full time Monday-Thursday and sometimes Friday, but have a lot of flexibility in my schedule. I am around many weekends and love being active! I like to run, walk, bike and hike. I can stay your house to watch if needed and can let them out throughout the day if they are within a reasonable area from work. I would love to take your dog on a long walk after work if that is the case or can hangout if they are older. I am around most weekends but will be traveling a couple of the weekends in the summer.
