In addition to owning two large dogs, I also work with livestock. I work for a small family farm and handle hens, turkeys, pigs, horses, and cattle. I genuinely enjoy being around animals, especially dogs. Whether it’s canines or livestock, dealing with animals requires being able to effectively communicate with them. That will only facilitate the bonding process. Lastly, my Husky and Ridgeback require 1-2 hours of exercise per day, so I must frequent the dog beach and dog park regualrly. If time does not allow for that then I’ll take them for 30-45 minute walks/jogs around my neighborhood. I’ve made it one of my objectives to socialize my dogs with other breeds, both small and large, as much as possible. As a result, they’ve developed into two very mellow pups.
