Pet care experience
Hi there! My name is Michelle - I'm an NYU graduate and remote worker currently living in Midtown Manhattan with my 1.5 year-old beagle/who-knows-what mix, Goose. I grew up surrounded by dogs, and in 2018 became involved in fostering through local rescue organizations. I adopted my second foster - a deaf senior poodle mix - Burt, in 2019, and saw him through to the end of a battle with concurrent cancer diagnoses in the fall of 2021. This past March, I foster-failed yet again on my resident pup, Goose. Goose desperately loves other dogs, and providing a home for short-term fosters and the dogs of out-of-town friends has been such a treat for her. I have experience with young puppies and seniors alike, administering medication, and positive reinforcement training. I am more than happy to work with you to ensure that your dog has the best possible stay.
Reviews
Michelle is the perfect candidate for any dog sitting job! She is trustworthy, dependable, caring, fun-loving, patient, and flexible in nature! She absolutely loves animals and has taken care of dogs and cats for as long as I have known her. I would trust her to watch after my pets any day and any animal owner should feel confident and comfortable in the high level of care and love Michelle would offer their animal.

Safety, trust & environment
When unattended (no more than 2-ish hours at a time to run an errand or see a friend), dogs will be crated unless you specify otherwise. Dogs are always under supervision while I am home. We do not visit dog parks. Note: I live in a highly populated area - because of this and my resident dog, I cannot accommodate dogs who are known to be reactive or who have a bite history.

Information Michelle P. would like to know about your pet
I'm open to all breeds/sizes but would like to know if your dog has any history of aggression, any fears or particular dislikes, how they handle other dogs/people, and any boundaries you may have as an owner (they require medication, shouldn't be pet by strangers, shouldn't travel too far from home, etc.). I only use positive reinforcement - please let me know if you have any cues you'd like us to work on and I'm happy to incorporate some training!
A typical day
We typically go on ~4 walks/day (weather- and need-dependent) - some short and others long - with training along the way. We occasionally visit Central Park on a longline to play ball or chill in the sun. I have a collection of puzzle toys, sniff mats, Kongs, etc. for enrichment, and will pull out a flirt pole for around an hour at night to burn off Goose's last bit of energy!

Availability
I work remotely, and my resident dog rings a bell to let me know when she's ready to be taken outside, so my walking schedule is flexible and based on the needs of your dog. We typically do both short and longer walks throughout the day, and (weather-dependent) will find an empty space in Central Park to hang around and play ball with a long-line.
