I've had dogs in my past and find myself wanting a dog again, but I'm not sure I can commit to that for 12-15 years at this point in my life, so I get to be a doggy aunt and let them go back home to their family. It's a win-win situation. I have so many friends with dogs and love to take their dogs on walks and play with them. I just love animals, so I've even watched horses, donkeys, cats, and a disco dancing African Grey. I work from home, so having a dog to take care of or walk regularly is such a nice treat. I get company and the dog gets frequent pets, playtime, and walks. Plus, I live close to Rosie's dog beach and go there without dogs at times just to say hello and sometimes with dogs (depending if that will work for them). When I have the dogs at my house I don't leave them alone for more than 15 minutes unless I have them for more than 3 days, and then it's only briefly to run to the store. If I go out, I take them with me to places that they will feel comfortable. I feel like it's tough enough to be away from their family, and I don't want them to feel any more stress than they have to.
