Pet care experience
I have been a dog & animal lover for all of my life. I fostered 2 dogs for about a month each, both with behavioral issues back in 2017. I learned a great deal about training and dog behavior during that time. I have been providing dog care services on Wag! and Rover for about 4 years. I rescued my own beautiful pup, Libby, from Chicago Canine Rescue in 2020. I’m experienced with dogs of all breeds, sizes and personalities and caring for numerous dogs at a time. I can provide medication and special care as needed. I’m experienced with senior dogs as well.

Michelle is so great! My dog Benji has spent countless weekdays hanging out with Michelle and her dog Libby. Benji seemed so comfortable and happy there. Michelle would send a few pics during the day too, which I love. Libby and Benji got along great too - both chill dogs who like to relax and walk together. Book Michelle, she’s wonderful.
Michelle did a great job watching my dog! She sent so many pictures daily and gave me great updates. I could tell my dog was very happy and comfortable in her home. Will definitely be using her again!

My dog is very laid back and low energy. She is not very playful but enjoys the company of other dogs. I have dogs in and out for daycare and boarding frequently, so she is very used to sharing her space with all kinds of dogs! Since I work from home, I can monitor the interactions between my dog and your dog as needed. I've never had any issues. However, please be honest about your dog’s playfulness level. My dog can occasionally get a bit irritated/overwhelmed if another dog is extremely energetic and does not know when to leave to her alone. She never does anything more than a little snarl but I don’t like subjecting her to constant stress with an extremely energetic dog. My building has a convenient courtyard in back for a quick potty break, and there are many parks nearby for walks and playtime.

I would love to know about any triggers or quirks that your dog has ahead of time. Here are some common questions that I have that are not always in a dog's profile: Does your dog get crated when left alone? How long can your dog be left alone? Does your dog bark at noises outside/in the hallway? Does your dog get triggered or scared by anything else? How does your dog do with walking on a leash- any pulling, reactivity, or other behaviors to note? None of the answers will necessarily make a difference whether or not I agree to care for your dog but it very helpful to know ahead of time to prepare.
A typical day
I love to walk the dogs around the neighborhood. If your dog is a fan of dog parks, I live close to a couple and am happy to take your dog there on the weekends or during lunch. I have a lot of toys to keep your dog entertained while I work. My dog hardly touches toys, so they are ALL for your pup :) I do ask that if your dog has any particular favorite toys, please do bring them with for the stay!

Availability
I work from home and have a fairly flexible schedule. During weekdays, I am rarely gone for more than 4 hours at a time and I can accommodate most care needs with my schedule. Since I have a dog of my own to care for, fitting your dog into my schedule is usually very seamless! However, I live by myself so caring for more than 2 dogs at once (my own + one client) is quite overwhelming therefore I do not accept multiple clients at once, even for only a few hours, except for rare occasions.
