I recently adopted a shelter dog, so we are still working through some behavioral problems and trust issues with new people. I wanted to see if a dog walker could work since he seemed to get along with people well, when I was around at least. Michelle came over for a meet and greet, and Hershel was excited and tail-waggy. The day of the first dog walk, Michelle texted me and let me know that Hershel was afraid and wouldn't come out of his crate, even with treats, and that she didn't want to force him. I really appreciated that she let me know and that she knew that it wasn't going to work that day. For now I'm going to work on more socialization for Hershel, and eventually go on a few walks with a new person, but I think Michelle handled the situation really well and with understanding.
