Pet care experience
I know how much we love our pets, consider them part of the family, and want someone who we can trust to take the best possible care of them while we are busy. Most of my experience with dog care comes from taking care of my own dogs while growing up. I've had a golden retriever mix who was extremely smart and active, and a chihuahua who loved the people close to her, but was a little anxious and apprehensive in public, so I have experience with different types of personalities. Both dogs brought so much joy into my life. I have also volunteered with animal shelters in the past, fostering puppies and participating in PetsMart adoption events. Volunteering with the animal shelter helped me to get my "dog fix" after my other two dogs had passed and I didn't have one of my own. I see Rover as a win-win situation where I get to experience the joy of being around dogs, and your animals get some extra love, attention, and exercise while you are busy or away.

Michelle took great care of our boy while we were in Carlsbad for the day. She took him on plenty of walks and potty breaks, and shared plenty of photos. We could tell that he felt comfortable with her and in her home. If we find ourselves in the area again and in need of a dog sitter, Michelle will be our go-to!

I think it is important for safety reasons to know how I can expect your dog to act around people and other dogs. Can I expect your dog to be immediately friendly with me, or should I plan to put some extra time into slowly gaining his or her trust? Is your dog known to be an escape artist? Are there any allergies or dietary restrictions? Does your dog have a favorite place like the beach or a park that he/she likes to go? Do they have a favorite toy or favorite form of exercise? Anything else to be sure that your pet has the best possible experience while in my care!
A typical day
I would love to take your dog(s) for a long walk by the beach or on one of the many trails in the area. We can play fetch or practice any tricks or obedience skills that you may be working on. If your dog likes to be pet, cuddled, and scratched, there will be no shortage of that from me!

Availability
I work only part-time in a restaurant, usually just 3 days a week, so I have plenty of free time to walk or care for your animals. I also currently have no pets of my own due to where I live, so your pets would be the only animals that I am caring for and will get all of my attention!
