Pet care experience

Welcome to my profile! I am a step mom to 2 kids and 3 fur kids. I work from home, but do occasionally leave the house during the day for job requirements. I will leave during the day for school drop offs & pick-ups, and also if I need to run errands. Dogs have been a part of my life since before I could talk. Growing up I lived in a household with more than one dog. My husband and I currently volunteer with a rescue & foster dogs to help find them forever homes. So at any given time I can have an additional dog added to my pack. We have a large yard to accommodate our dogs, fosters & guest dogs. We have a six foot privacy fence. Our pool deck is secured with latch gates and chicken wire so no dogs have access to our above ground swimming pool. Inside our home, the upstairs has a gate in place also so no dogs have access to the front door. We like to keep our pets safe, so we'll keep yours safe too! Prior to booking with me, I will email you a short questionnaire for you to fill out regarding your dog’s temperament. Since I am a multiple dog household, I do like to know as much about a dog before I board them. **Some important information to share with you** ALL of my dogs are crate trained. (This does not mean I do not accept dogs who are not crate trained. This is a choice, and a safety measure I take due to having multiple dogs). When you arrive for drop off, my dogs will not all be at the front door. Sometimes it can be overwhelming for a dog to be in a new place and without their owner, so I allow for them to check out my home before meeting my dogs. It is also a safety precaution for my own dogs. Whether we do a meet and greet prior to the stay, I will ALWAYS do a meet and greet with my husband between your dog & mine. One of my dogs has a habit of swallowing items, it began with my daughter’s tiny socks that we didn’t even know she digested until it passed later. Then a different occasion it was a rather large toy that she swallowed whole and required exploratory surgery. This habit is far more common than people realize and sometimes do not learn about it until it’s already happened. With that piece of information, if you do know your dog has a habit of swallowing things, PLEASE let me know. Also for this very reason, I do not have toys laying around my house. You are allowed to bring toys during a stay, but for anyone who may have similar issues with their dog swallowing things, I can assure you I am cautious when it comes to play time. Dogs are never left unattended together. Dogs are never given treats without permission from owners. I understand some dogs, just like people, have allergies. I know allergies can be mild or severe, so for that reason I will not feed your dog any food or treats without your permission. You are encouraged to send whatever you do use as treats if he or she does have food sensitivities. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to ask!

This was our puppy's first stay with a sitter and we were at ease the minute we left her. Michelle is obviously very knowledgeable about dog/puppy behavior and interactions and her home was very clean and well-organized for welcoming canine guests. She was very flexible about the timing of the stay. Will definitely use Michelle's services again!
