Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs as a kid in Southern CA and moved to Santa Cruz for college. I graduated from UCSC in 2022 with a double major in Psychology and Community studies. My goals are to pursue my own therapeutic practice and incorporate animals into my work. I worked at Petsmart as a Dog Groomer for two years and continue to work with some of my former clients. I now work for a mobile grooming salon called Pawsitive Styles. I can provide in home grooming services during your stay for an additional charge, and every booking that is over two days will receive a FREE NAIL SERVICE for their pets! I am passionate, well educated, and informed about animals which helps keep you are your pets assured that they are in good hands! I take this responsibility very seriously and am dedicated to all pets, especially those under my care while you’re away.

My large home has a magnetic screen door that leads out to a large backyard. Your pet will be supervised 100% of the time unless noted otherwise (in the case of last minute bookings where I cannot get time off work, pending you and your dogs approval). I can provide frequent potty breaks, loving attention and play, and walks or time at the dog park. My Obie will be super excited to spend time with your pet, so if they need some gentle one on one time I can allow them the safety of my bedroom away from my playful pup whenever they need it. My priority is keeping your pet stress free and happy in order to create a positive association with boarding and hopefully create a relationship that allows them to return to my home with excitement rather than fear of you leaving in the future.

How they do with other dogs so I know if they can be taken to the dog beach (leashed or unleashed) or if they would do better with a leashed walk! Do they know how to use a doggy door, or should I take them out myself? Are they vocal barkers? If so, what is their trigger for barking? Any medical information I should know?
A typical day
I love to spend time with your pet and make them happy however that looks for them! I allow pets to sleep in my bed with me as the owner allows. I will discuss a daily care plan with you prior to your stay about where I can take your dog for enrichment activities (dog park, beach, leashed walks, play time, etc.). With my extensive knowledge due to my time in the animal industry, it’s important that I create a positive association with boarding for your pet so that they look forward to staying with me rather than feel fearful that you will be away for some time. Awareness of signs of stress, body language, utilizing a collaborative care plan, science and research backed positive enforcement training knowledge, and maintaining contact with the pet parent are a few ways I ensure your pet enjoys their stay!
