I've been dog sitting all my life, both on Rover and separately. I stopped to focus on other career opportunities and adopted a hound dog and a kitten along the way, and now those same career opportunities have allowed me to be home almost full-time! My boys (Finnley, Plott/RedboneCoonhound, 2y, 75lbs, and Brew, Grey Cat, 1y 8lbs) love meeting new friends and I miss taking care of new furry babies! If your dog likes other dogs and is okay on a leash I'd love to walk them with Finnley, but if your pup prefers to go solo I'll be happy to do that too. If your dog really, really likes other dogs we love to go to the dog park every day. We live in an apartment in Biltmore Village and have a small dog park in the community, although we often drive over to Azelea or French Broad for longer play-times. All of the dogs in the community play well together and are super sweet! Our cat loves dogs and is comfortable around all of them. He has met other cats, and he pretty much ignores them - but I'm sure he would play with one if they got close enough! He loves to get in the middle of play-time in the apartment when we have guests over. Both of our boys have interacted with dogs of all sizes and ages and do well with them all, however we do ask that your dog have a playdate with Finnley before they stay over. Our pets sleep with us at night, but if yours prefers to sleep in a crate we can make that happen! We have a very large "furniture" style crate that doesn't get much use if yours is difficult to transport.
