As the daughter of a former zookeeper, I grew up around all sorts of animals. We had a menagerie in our home growing up so I learned how to not only take care of all kinds of animals, but I also learned how to treat them with the utmost respect - which I have passed down to my own children as well. I truly have a passion for all animals, great and small. My experience with dogs is also extensive. I grew up with an American Eskimo that I was responsible for walking, brushing, and bathing. He was the best dog and I miss him to this day. Then, I got a boxer who was high energy and hilarious. He loved walking and playing with toys. He was a sweetheart. Then, when I met my husband, he had a 2 year old Jack Russell Terrier that absolutely stole my heart. She lived to be 19 years old and she just passed a year ago. She was our world. Because of her, I have a lot of experience taking care of senior dogs, or as I like to refer to them- "royalty." We now have adopted our Freya girl who is a Red Heeler/Shepard mix and she is a dream. I have always been the one friends and family call to watch their dogs when they go out of town and I love it. All dogs are family.
