Pet care experience
I have owned dogs my entire life-my husband and I currently have 2 Aussies that I have trained and titled in agility. We also foster nervous dogs who wouldn't otherwise stand a chance at adoption from the shelter. I enjoy the challenges that come along with training dogs the basics- crate training, potty training, leash walking and impulse control. It's so rewarding and I am able to do so through relationship building and trust- maybe a treat or 5 too! Outside of dogs, I also have experience with cats, chickens, tortoises, hermit crabs, frogs- you name it! Always happy to learn how to care for other animals too :) About me- I am an avid hiker and you will frequently see me walking my dogs in the neighborhood, Henry Cowell State Park, or Sanborn. I am more than happy to do sniffing walks, small strolls, or even 10 miles days if that's what your pet needs to be happy.

Michaela has been an absolute gem of a pet sitter for our high-energy dogs and our shy cats. She skillfully manages the boundless enthusiasm of our dogs, keeping them active and happy with plenty of playtime and exercise. At the same time, she's incredibly gentle and patient with our cats, respecting their space and easing them out of their shells. It's clear she tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each pet, which speaks volumes about her dedication and love for animals. Let me know if your dog has any reactive behaviors. One of our dogs struggles with unknown dogs so I understand the delicate touch your pup needs. I am happy to take them on neighborhood strolls or hikes that I know for being on-leash only with respectful visitors. I understand the space and distance your pup needs to feel confident and help them through their anxieties.
A typical day
A tired dog is a happy dog! I focus on mental and physical stimulation to keep your dog happy and out of trouble. I tailor my approach to each dogs- some dogs like to walk 5 miles while others would rather do a slow, explorative, sniff around the neighborhood. I am happy to do what works best for your pup. My husband and I foster dogs in addition to being pet parents of 2 high-energy dogs (aussies) and 2 cats + 8 chickens. We specialize positive-reinforcement methods and haven't had a foster that we couldn't successfully crate train, potty train, and housebreak. I also enjoy training my pups in agility- they are both titled in agility and tricks.
