I've been a proud dog uncle and foster-dad to many dogs throughout the last decade. I do my best to make sure every dog is greeted warmly and with gentle boundary setting. As your dogsitter, you can trust that I will go above and beyond just checking off to-do lists but will ensure your dog is well taken care of and feels comfortable in your absence.

What can I say about Michael - hands down the nicest and most genuine sitter I've had the pleasure of finding on Rover. He's friendly and my pup LOVES him now. Very flexible and worked with me being stuck on my travels back home. Kept his word on his time, sent me pictures like I had requested, and most importantly - my little girl was safe and fully taken care of. I have a hard time not being anxious when I leave my pets but Michael made me feel comfortable and I fully trusted him to take care of Dahlia. After the first visit was over I knew I didn't have to worry and that she's in good hands. He didn't come just to feed and take her out...he went above and beyond and spent time with her, too. I 1000% will be asking Michael to pet sit again for me in the future. 6 out of 5 stars!!

Michael is an excellent dog sitter. He has taken care of my old english sheepdog, Murphy, multiple times. Murphy is an elderly dog but so sweet. Michael was incredible with caring for his specific needs and making sure that he was cared for appropriately given his age. Murphy is slow and Michael was so patient with him. Murphy loves Michael and always gets excited to see him. I would absolutely recommend Michael to take care of any kind of dog even those with a lot of needs!
Michael has been working for me this past year and I have known him to be a responsible and thoughtful person. He cares deeply for dogs and has a great relationship with his own dog Bigs. I would certainly recommend Michael to look after anyone's pet.

In my professional life, I am a licensed psychotherapist and work with kids and adults of all ages. While my training is obviously focused on providing care to people, I often translate what I know about the nervous system to my dog clients. I ensure they feel safe by exuding warmth and care, being consistent, and helping limit any environmental factors that may be overstimulating or overwhelming to dogs. I will follow your orders around leashing and walking preferences and will always notify you if I have questions.

Required information during the first meeting: -How are they around strangers (both humans and other animals)? -What are some fear and anxiety triggers? -Any type of medications or food requirements. -What are their favorite treats? -What is their favorite toy or comfort object? I enjoy most types of dogs, however I prefer not to work with ones who are overly-aggressive or constantly bark.
A typical day
I love exploring neighborhoods and parks, as well as more extensive nature hikes. I constantly try to change the route up, so that the furry friend can feel excited to explore new areas. Depending on your preferences, I can socialize your dogs with other people and dogs that I trust.

Availability
Sundays through Wednesdays: Apart from occasional remote work meetings during the day or evening, I have a flexible schedule to meet your needs. Thursdays: I work in my office, downtown, for most of the day. I have limited availability on this day due to my work commitments. However, we can discuss logistics if you are flexible. Fridays & Saturdays: I am in the office from 9:30am to 5:00pm. I am flexible outside of that time frame.
