Dogs & cats: all furry friends!
Pet care experience
Talking to dogs and cats, and treating them like the furry friends that they are has always been a way I have found to make a connection with them, making them comfortable with me. I have had my cat since she was a mere six weeks old, seventeen plus years ago. Prior to her, there was my beautiful beast, my Siberian husky dog, that was with me for a special fifteen years. As far as experience goes, it has mostly been with my own, or my family and friends’ pets. I am comfortable walking and being with most people’s pets. Understanding their eating schedules and keeping their water filled are fundamental. I am an early riser and can make myself available whenever needed to tend to your furry friend.
Reviews
Walked and fed the pup and fed the cat (bonus) while we’re gone for the day. Amazing as always!
Michael was incredibly attentive to our two girls while we were away for the weekend. Walks twice a day and playtime with the kitty + multiple pictures of all of it. We got back to a house better than we left it. We couldn’t have been more grateful and would use his services again in a heartbeat!
Michael took care of our little dog, Leyla, for a week when we were on vacation. He was fantastic in every way. We especially appreciated his updates and photos, which always made our day. Leyla clearly loves him and the week was a vacation for the whole family.
I’ve known Michael for more than 9 years and have always known his as one of the most responsible and reliable folks in my social and professional networks. Michael was the caretaker for a wonderful cat of his own for years and she was always well loved and cared for. Michael watched over my cats (one of whom was a special needs animal) when I was away for work travel or vacations when we lived in the same city. Without asking, Michael sent pictures of the cats throughout my trip and gave updates (whether humorous or just informational) on their well-being. It bums me out that Michael’s no longer in the same city as me for many reasons, one of which being that I’ve never found another person who can be counted on for such reliable petsitting. Don’t think twice about having Michael keep an eye on your pet(s) if you’re in need; I can’t imagine you’ll find a more responsible and reliable guy for the job.

My apartment building has a purpose-built and fenced-in rooftop dog relief area. There are plenty of surrounding streets that are great for long walks. The apartment itself has hard-wood floors with area rugs for non-slipping paws.
Information Michael W. would like to know about your pet
Having as much information about your relationship with your animal friend ahead of time will help me give the attention they need while keeping them safe, such as: * allergies of course * their preferred activities and exercises * any injuries or mobility concerns * any triggers or aggressive behaviors * their story and personality * what treats and foods they like (and dislike) * reactions to weather changes Please also share any special requests, special treats, things and places that are off limits for your animal (no dogs on the sofa? etc.).
A typical day
Safely explore any parks and such in the neighborhood. I love to stimulate your animals physically and mentally. Games to help train them and to keep them safe, I believe dogs like to be put to work and have boundaries in they own personal way so giving them direction and motivation is best done in a fun and encouraging way. But you know your beautiful beast the best, so I will always follow your guidance and recommendations when it comes to them. Note: I do not accept drop-in visits for dogs if you are going out of town for more than 24hrs and intend to leave your dog/s alone overnight. I feel they will become lonely and scared and may put themselves in dangerous situations as a result
Services

Availability
I currently work from home and am able to step away from my computer at any time during the day. Taking your dog for walks during the day would fit into my lunch hour, with quick potty breaks as needed not being a problem.
