Hard Working, Flexible Pet Sitter!
Pet care experience
***PLEASE NOTE- UPDATED 4/11/24: The night before Thanksgiving I received a severe injury injury to my right knee, leaving me temporarily confined to crutches and unable to drive, and so unable to provide petcare. I am happy to say that after surgery and months of recovery and physical therapy that I am back on my feet walking all day, without the aid of crutches or a brace. I am back to providing drop ins, dog walks and homestays and am slowly ramping back up to my usual workload. The only restrictions I still have are I can't run or afford to get knocked over, at least for now. All this means is I still will not be able to provide care for you dog for a while yet if your dog either requires running exercise while on a walk, or if your dog weighs over 80Ibs and tends to lunge with full force when reactive. I am beyond elated to be back doing what I love, taking care of your cherished pets, and I thank you for your patience.*** Growing up I wasn't allowed to have any pets (besides carnival goldfish) so as an adult I have attempted to make up for lost time! I took care of the pets of friends and family whenever I could, and I worked a part time job taking care of dogs and cats back in 2015 and 2016. I became a dog dad in my own right in 2019 and my wife and I adopted two kittens earlier this year. Besides working with typical adult dogs and cats, between my personal life and my work in pet care I have experience with: -Puppies -Kittens -Nervous Dogs -Senior Dogs -Senior Cats -Blood sugar testing and insulin injection for cats (I am also diabetic myself) -Highly reactive dogs to both people and other dogs -Very large dogs (A regular client of mine is a roughly 150Ibs Grand Pyrenees) In addition in March 2024 I became certified in pet first aid and pet CPR through Montgomery College. I look forward to meeting you and your furry companions!
Reviews
Michael didid a great job with our elderly dog, Pearl and cat, Floppy! He is a clear communicator and trustworthy housesitter. We are grateful for his help and his daily updates were appreciated. Thanks so much!!
Michael was very communicative and took great care of our two cats while we were away. He took notes and asked questions in our walkthrough. Our cats were happy and healthy on our return, we would book again.
As always, Michael took great care of our dogs and was an excellent communicator!
Michael took wonderful care of our pup for 3 days! Thank you!

Communication
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I am a gentle and loving soul that pets typically respond very well to, even ones that typically very hesitant towards strangers. I will treat your pets with the same loving kindness I show to my and my friends' pets, following whatever care guidelines you may have for your animals. I am also trained in pet first aid and CPR should any emergency arise.
Information Michael S. would like to know about your pet
I will always suggest we meet up before I do my first walk/drop in/etc so we can get to know each other a bit and I can ask a few important questions regarding your animals' habits, training, feeding and walking rules, medical needs and play tendencies, and of course so you can ask me any questions you might have as well.
A typical day
Left to my own devices I like to take dogs on longer walks and vary up the routes and locations as much as possible, and make sure to include lots of time for fetch, tug-of-war and the like while at home. More importantly, I pride myself on being able to tailor care to your needs and desires, whether that means always sticking to the same walk route, avoiding other dogs, splitting time between walking and play in the backyard as you would like- whatever you and your pets need for peace of mind!

I have an incredibly flexible schedule! Whenever you need help with your pets, I can be there. I have availability on both weekdays and the weekends, not bound by any particular hours. If your life mandates a constantly shifting schedule, I am the perfect resource to have to make sure your pets are cared for while you roll with the punches!
