Grad student, animal enthusiast

Pet care experience

From a young age, I have spent time with and cared for dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes belonging to close friends and family. These include an English bulldog puppy, a Boxer, multiple Labradoodles, multiple German Shepherds, a Havanese, a Dachsund, a Wheaten Terrier, and a Jack Russell Terrier. I have diverse experience walking, bathing, cleaning up after, feeding, transporting, and administering medicine (via peanut butter, of course) to all kinds of furry friends. I love spending time with any and all dog breeds!

Michael was amazing with Bristol! She seemed very happy when I picked her up and I can tell how caring he was with her. I will definitely reach out to Michael again to watch Bristol! I highly recommend to others in need of a sitter/walker. Thank you Michael!!

Safety, trust & environment

While I do not have any animals of my own, my building is entirely dog friendly and many neighbors have dogs of their own. Additionally, there is a lot of green space for walking and running (near Rose Park) with your animal(s). I prefer to keep my space clean and organized and respect the wishes of the owners regarding keeping animals in my own space. At the same time, I am sure to maintain any boundaries (furniture, rooms, kennels, etc.) requested by the owner while petsitting in the homes of others.

Information Michael S. would like to know about your pet

It is important to me to know the personality of your animal as well as whether it's ok for them to interact with other dogs and to what extent you'd prefer. I like to err on the side of being more safe and separate when it seems like two or more dogs get too playful or things escalate!

A typical day

I like to spend as much time outside as possible and enjoy walking around Centennial, McCabe, and Rose parks. I never get tired of throwing a ball or stick for fetch! I am also happy to just hang out if your dog likes to chill or is less active.

Availability

Entering my 3rd year of grad school (working towards a Ph.D. in computer science) with a somewhat nonrigid schedule, I have a flexible routine for animal care. For example, I am able to step away from my home/office to take your animal for a lunchtime walk. I am also often up late at night working but can be flexible for early morning walks and bathroom breaks. When I am not studying or otherwise working on research, I enjoy rock climbing (Climb Nashville!) and biking. I also do not usually have any recurring weekend obligations so am flexible then as well.
