A tired dog is a happy dog!

Pet care experience

I'm a full-time professional with fairly flexible work hours. I have my own dog, a happy, healthy 9.5 yr old Plott-hound mix, Ollie. Additionally, I've watched and cared for at least 5-10 other dogs (friends, family, etc.) over recent years and am generally known as a bit of a 'dog whisperer'. I absolutely love dogs and look forward to taking exceptional care of your pet when you need to leave them in somebody else's care. Ollie and I walk for 3-4 miles each day around the neighborhood, and go to dog friendly parks/fields in my neighborhood where he can run off leash. As highlighted in the pictures, Ollie readily gets along with a wide variety of dogs as a walking buddy, a sleeping buddy, or a running-around-a-field buddy. If you leave your dog with me and Ollie, your dog will have a canine friend, get lots of fun neighborhood walks, and have friends to cuddle up with on the couch / in their dog bed after a long-day of walking, eating, and sleeping :).

Michael took great care of Lettie during her stay. I could tell by the photos he sent that she was getting comfortable and feeling at home after the first day. She and Ollie seemed to get along fine, but each do their own thing, which is great. I'm grateful to Michael for hosting Lettie while I was out of town!

Another successful stay and, as always, Michael was incredibly flexible, communicative, and kind! Atlas couldn't have been happier to see him at drop-off and thoroughly enjoyed their weekend adventure to Scott's Run with Ollie.

Our second time with Michael and Ollie was even better than the first! Atlas was excited to see them again, leaving my side without any concerns at drop-off which is a rarity. And, as always, Michael was very kind, communicative, and flexible. 10/10, can't recommend this duo enough!

While Ollie was crate trained as a puppy, at this point he roams freely throughout the house. That said, I'm happy to host crate-trained dogs, and more than comfortable allowing your (trained!) dog to roam free throughout my home much like Ollie.

Information Michael M. would like to know about your pet

I'd prefer not to watch dogs under 2 years old, as -- at times -- I can have demanding morning schedules (lots of morning meetings) that are harder to manage with dogs requiring more hands-on attention. If your dog has aggression towards other dogs, any serious allergies, or behaviors that might other be unusual it will be important to share that information so we can determine whether this is the right home for them while you're away.

A typical day

We will take long walks around the neighborhood, go to neighborhood parks and/or excursions along Rock Creek, and hang out in the home to eat, recharge, and play with all the toys.
