Pet care experience
I grew up with a dachshund for the first fifteen years of my life - the formative years. So naturally, I found it difficult to keep dogs out of my life after he passed. Freelance walking over the course of four years, plus experience dog sitting in the city. These clients ranged from extended family members to friends and then, once in the city, colleagues and professional connections. I should also mention I am 6'5" and therefore would be a strong authority figure for your dog on the streets of New York.

Wow, I can't that Michael enough for coming to watch my bichon, Lucky, last week! His way with little dogs is adorable - within a few seconds of meeting us, Michael was getting kisses from Lucky (who can be a bit particular). Michael was prompt getting over, and didn't mind staying later when my plans changed (I'm talking post-2am!) I felt very reassured, and even got a goodnight pic from Lucky texted over. I will definitely have him over again. Thanks, Mike!
My dog, Rufus, can often tell Michael is coming as soon as he rings the buzzer. When Michael comes into the apartment, Rufus is all over him! He would probably lick his face if Michael wasn't 6-foot-5. Michael is just as good with people as he is with dogs -- a guy just as reliable, responsible, and kind is not often come across. He's helped us lots of times when we've had to travel for work. Often times, my wife and I get jealous of Michael -- if only Rufus got that excited when we came home from work!
Michael has watched (walked, fed, played with, loved) my two chocolate labs multiple times for both quick overnights and longer stays. The dogs are always very excited to see their friend Michael when he arrives. I have recommended Michael to friends in the past and he has never disappointed. Very reliable and professional, but not afraid to be silly with my pooches!

No breed preferences - really, I would just want to know the dog's general habits while walking. Are they a runner? Do they tend to luxuriate in the vast world of aromas that fills the sidewalks of New York?
A typical day
Depends on the neighborhood - but I'm always a big proponent of the parks on each side of Manhattan. East River & West Side Highway. In Brooklyn, there are plenty of dog runs across the borough, particularly the one in McCarren Park. And again, there's even another riverside route in that area.
