Pet care experience
I’ve had my own dogs and cared for other’s pets and homes both in the city and upstate for 30 years. All breeds. 4 languages. Artist-designer-activist LGBTQ & BLM. professional cook. Experienced with most breeds including weims, pits, and other more anxious breeds. As my work is gig related- I work from home when under contract to design a collection or create an art installation. This allows me to spend a lot of personal time with your pet. Walking. Day care. Overnight boarding my place or yours. And daily grooming needs. Most of all, fun! As an urban pet owner and care specialist I’ll review with you what dog parks or walks your pet enjoys so that we all get our daily physical and social exercise. I’m friendly in my flat with dogs on the bed and sofa to nap and sleep but if you have other requirements that’s great. What’s important is for your pal to feel safe and at home with Guncle Mike.

Mike takes excellent care of Brooklyn whenever he watches her and she loves having playmates for a few days when he has other dogs :).
Michael was boarding other dogs and the socialization was good for our dog Madison. She has little chance to hang out with other dogs so she could work on her skills. Madison had some accidents and Michael figured out the trigger and adjusted. We got videos of the pack walking and Madison snuggling. We were disappointed that when we got her back, her ID and rabies tags were missing and the ring that they were attached to had obviously caught on something. We got a call from someone at a grocery store who found her ID under a shelf. We went to pick it up from caller at store and looked for rabies tag to no avail.
Michael and his partner took excellent care of my pup Brooklyn. They stayed in touch and sent photos and videos and my girl had an amazing time — she was sad to leave!! They were also incredibly flexible and kept Brooklyn for an extra night when my flight home got delayed. 10/10 experience - I will definitely be reaching out to Michael next time Brooklyn needs a sitter!

We will talk about your pet, get photos and information about any anxiety or compulsive behavior that will help me to know about and I am quite happy to take on breeds often unfairly called “bully breeds”. Pits and pit mixes and I get along swimmingly as well as Weims and other hunting dogs. I love to mix it up and care for sweet little breeds as well. They offer a different kind of love and cuddliness.
A typical day
I see myself as the fun gay uncle that dogs wag wildly to be with. It’s about care, exercise, fun, play, love and affection and of course rules and mutual respect. I live near the east river and blade there often. Some dogs love to run along with me. Others prefer walks. We love going to see the sun rise over the east river and I’m good with my lens so we will have great photos of each visit for you. Naps are very important for me and I have a king size bed for all siesta inclined dogs. I have a calming influence on even the most anxious breeds. And they are good for me too!
