Pet care experience
I have three years experience dog walking and overnight sitting in Boston, MA. I am now living in Asheville, and am excited to continue caring for dogs as a fun side-gig. Whatever your pup needs, I'm happy to cater my visits accordingly; whether that's play time, some fun training games, a run, or just a leisurely walk around the neighborhood. For two years, I worked under one of the most reputable dog-trainers in the city, Vivian Zottola. I practice positive reinforcement when working with dogs and do not believe in using aversive equipment (shock collars, prong collars, intimidation, etc.). I also have years of volunteer experience in animal shelters, where I cared for all types of dogs that came from all types of situations. In my spare time, I love to be outdoors, go for hikes, read books, and of course hang out with furry friends. I'd love to get to know you and your pup!

Mic is a wonderful sitter. She arrived for a meet and greet and her calm manner put my dogs at ease immediately (typically they are extremely high energy around new people). She followed all our instructions and was sure to be clear on our preferences. The dogs loved her from the start and we could tell Mic really loved them too. We were very comfortable leaving them over the holiday weekend. And we came home to two happy pups so what more can you ask for!
My dog does cartwheels when he sees Michaella! She is definitely his favorite human. She’s always taking him for a run by the river, or a hike up to a new waterfall... I highly recommend Her! (And so does my pup!)
I highly recommend Mic as a dog sitter. She is attentive to our dog and is very knowledgeable and patient. She is also prompt so I know that my dog will not be left waiting. She has also been doing this for a long time so has lots of experience.

Before I walk or sit your pet, however, I would like to chat about their behavior, any dietary restrictions, and how comfortable they are interacting with other dogs we might see on our walks. I have experience working with fearful dogs, so I am comfortable tailoring walks to dogs that need more space.
A typical day
I can tailor your dogs visit, walk, or overnight stay to their unique needs. If it's a puppy, we'll play lots and incorporate some fun, positive reinforcement training. If you have an active, adult dog, we can go for a long walk around the neighborhood or trail run in a nearby park. If your pup is older, I'm happy to take a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood giving your pet a relaxing and thorough walk that will make their day extra special. Whatever your dog's needs and comfort levels, I'm excited to spend time with them!
