We could not have been more pleased with the care Merve provided for our young dog and 4 cats while we were gone for 6 days. She came to our house a few days ahead for a meet & greet and asked excellent questions. She stayed in our home the entire time we were gone and was totally trustworthy and professional. Merve consistently went above and beyond in her reliability, her helpfulness and her constant attention to the safety and wellbeing of our pets. She followed instructions with great precision. Merve was kind, loving and patient with all our pets; we could tell that she genuinely enjoyed being with them, and they were all clearly comfortable with her. She always responded quickly to messages. She was consistently communicative, texting updates and photos numerous times a day, and asked questions as needed. That allowed us to relax while we were away. Merve even shared some dog training tips, especially regarding dog walking. She left our house more tidy than she found it. In summary, it was so good to leave our pets in safe and experienced hands; we highly recommend Merve; we have already rebooked her for our next trip, and we will not hesitate to continue to request her services in the future!

Merve was great! In the past, when we've both been out of town, we've relied on relatives to care for out pets, and had never used Rover or other pet sitters. One of our coonhounds is elderly, and having an attentive person in our home to care for the dogs the four days we were gone relieved the anxiety about thinking of the older dog in a kennel. Also, the elderly dog has some health issues and Merve gave her medication when needed. Merve is personable and thoughtful, and gave our dogs a lot of attention, sent updates and photos, and put up with some loud barking/howling! THANK YOU MERVE!

We couldn't be happier with the service Merve provided. She checked in multiple times each day and sent plenty of photos. It typically takes our cat a few days to warm up to new people but Merve won her over quickly. We came home to happy animals and our home in great condition. I would highly recommend her and hope she's available for us in the future.

Safety, trust & environment

As a pet sitter, the way I care for pets can indeed vary depending on the service I offer, whether it's in my own home or at the client's home. Here's an overview of how I approach pet care in each setting: Pet Care in My Home: If I offer pet care services in my own home, I ensure that it is a safe, comfortable, and pet-friendly environment. Here's how I care for pets in this setting: Initial Introduction: Before the pet's stay, I organize a meet-and-greet to introduce the pet to my home, its surroundings, and my own pets (if any). This helps to assess compatibility and ensure a stress-free experience for the visiting pet. Routine Maintenance: I adhere to the pet's regular schedule as closely as possible, including feeding times, walks, playtime, and rest periods. Consistency is crucial for pets to feel secure in a new environment. Personalized Attention: Each pet receives individualized attention, love, and care. I make sure to provide ample affection and interactive playtime to keep them engaged and happy. Hygiene and Cleanliness: Regular grooming and cleanliness are maintained to keep the pet's environment healthy and comfortable. This includes cleaning up after them, regular litter box changes (for cats), and maintaining a tidy space. Safety Measures: I take special precautions to ensure the safety of all pets in my home. This may involve separating pets during meal times, closely supervising interactions, and securing hazardous items out of their reach. Updates for Pet Owners: I keep the pet owners informed about their furry friend's well-being with daily updates, photos, and videos. Open communication helps reassure pet owners that their pets are receiving excellent care. Pet Care in the Client's Home: If I offer pet care services at the client's home, I strive to maintain a sense of normalcy and familiarity for the pet. Here's how I care for pets in their own home: Understanding the Routine: Before the pet's care begins, I gather all necessary information about their daily routine, feeding schedule, exercise habits, and any medical needs. I aim to replicate their typical environment as closely as possible. Staying Overnight (If Required): For pet owners who prefer overnight care, I ensure I'm present during the evenings and nights to provide companionship and security for the pet. Maintaining a Clean Space: I take care of cleaning duties, including pet-related messes, to maintain a clean and organized home environment for both the pet and the client. Exploring Outdoors: If required, I take the pet on familiar routes for walks or outdoor activities, ensuring they get the exercise they need while staying within their comfort zone. Medication and Special Care: If the pet requires any medication or special care, I follow the provided instructions diligently to ensure their health and well-being. Security and Safety: I am mindful of the client's home security, making sure to lock up, set alarms, and take any other necessary precautions before leaving. Communication with Pet Owners: Throughout the pet's stay, I maintain regular communication with the pet owners, updating them on their pet's status and well-being. In both settings, my primary goal is to provide a loving and nurturing environment for the pets under my care. I tailor my approach based on each pet's unique needs, ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and secure whether they're in my home or their own home.

Information Merve O. would like to know about your pet

Knowing important information about a dog ahead of time is essential for providing the best possible care and ensuring their well-being. Here are some key details that are important to gather before taking care of a dog: Medical History: Knowing the dog's medical history is crucial. This includes any ongoing health conditions, allergies, medications they are taking, and vaccination records. In case of an emergency, this information can be vital for the dog's safety and for promptly seeking appropriate medical attention. Dietary Requirements: Understanding the dog's dietary preferences, regular feeding schedule, and any dietary restrictions is essential to ensure they receive the proper nutrition and avoid any digestive issues or food allergies. Behavior and Temperament: Learning about the dog's behavior and temperament helps in providing appropriate care and handling. Important aspects include whether the dog is sociable with other dogs or animals, any fears or triggers they may have, and their level of obedience training. Exercise Needs: Understanding the dog's energy level and exercise requirements allows you to plan suitable activities and ensure they receive enough physical activity to stay healthy and happy. Grooming Needs: Some dogs require more frequent grooming than others. Knowing their grooming needs, such as brushing, bathing, and nail trimming, helps in maintaining their hygiene and overall well-being. House Training Status: If the dog is house-trained or has any specific potty routines, this information is crucial to prevent accidents and maintain a clean environment. Preferred Toys and Activities: Knowing what toys or activities the dog enjoys can help in providing engaging and enjoyable experiences during their time in your care. Special Preferences or Triggers: Being aware of any specific likes, dislikes, fears, or triggers that the dog may have allows you to create a comfortable and stress-free environment for them. Emergency Contacts: Having the contact information of the dog's owner or a designated emergency contact person is vital in case of any unforeseen situations or emergencies. Veterinarian Information: Knowing the contact details of the dog's regular veterinarian or emergency veterinary clinic is crucial in case of any health-related issues. Microchip or ID Tag Details: Ensuring the dog has a proper identification tag or microchip, along with updated contact information, is essential in case the dog accidentally gets lost. Gathering this information ahead of time helps you to be well-prepared and provide personalized care for the dog. It also shows the owner that you are responsible and committed to their pet's well-being, which fosters trust and confidence in your services.

A typical day

When it comes to fun activities for the dogs I watch, I believe in tailoring the experience to suit each dog's personality, energy level, and preferences. Here are some of the fun activities I love to do with the dogs: Interactive Playtime: Engaging in interactive play with toys like balls, frisbees, and tug-of-war ropes allows the dogs to release pent-up energy and strengthens our bond. I always ensure the games are safe and suitable for each dog's size and breed. Exploring Nature: Going on nature walks in nearby parks or dog-friendly trails provides mental and physical stimulation for the dogs. They get to sniff new scents, encounter other friendly dogs, and enjoy the great outdoors. Puzzle Toys and Treat Games: For mentally stimulating activities, I use puzzle toys and treat-dispensing games. These challenge the dogs' problem-solving abilities and keep them entertained while rewarding them with tasty treats. Training Sessions: For dogs in training or those who enjoy learning new tricks, I incorporate short training sessions during our time together. Positive reinforcement training not only strengthens their skills but also boosts their confidence. Socializing Opportunities: If the dog enjoys being around other dogs, I arrange playdates with compatible and friendly canine buddies. Social interactions are essential for a well-rounded and happy pet. Water Play (If Appropriate): On hot days or if the dogs love water, I might take them to dog-friendly beaches or swimming areas to enjoy splashing around in the water. Quiet Cuddles and Affection: Providing cuddle time and gentle affection is equally important. Some dogs simply love being petted and reassured, and I'm always happy to provide the comfort they seek. As for special places for walks, I'm always on the lookout for dog-friendly and safe locations. Some potential spots include: Local Dog Parks: Dog parks offer secure, fenced areas where dogs can roam freely and socialize with other dogs. They are great for off-leash playtime and making new furry friends. Nature Trails: Exploring nearby nature trails or walking paths surrounded by trees, greenery, and wildlife can be a refreshing and enjoyable experience for dogs. Beaches or Lakes: If there are dog-friendly beaches or lakes in the area, water-loving dogs can have a blast splashing and playing in the water. Quiet Residential Areas: Sometimes, a leisurely walk around quiet residential neighborhoods can be enjoyable, especially for dogs who prefer a more peaceful setting. Regardless of the location, safety is always my top priority. I ensure that the dogs are leashed when required, and I carefully assess the environment for any potential hazards. Ultimately, my goal is to make the time spent with the dogs I watch engaging, enjoyable, and tailored to their individual needs, making each day a memorable and exciting experience for them.

As a passionate dog sitter, pet care is an integral part of my daily and weekly routine. I structure my schedule to ensure that the dogs under my care receive the attention, exercise, and love they need to thrive. Here's an overview of how pet care fits into my typical daily and weekly routine: Morning Walks and Feeding: Early in the morning, I take the dogs out for their first walk of the day. After their walk, I provide breakfast based on their specific dietary requirements and any special instructions from the pet owners. Mid-Day Playtime and Exercise: Around mid-day, I engage the dogs in interactive playtime, stimulating activities, or additional walks. This helps to break up the day and keep their energy levels balanced. Training Sessions: For dogs undergoing training, I incorporate short training sessions throughout the day. Consistency and positive reinforcement are key to successful training, so I ensure these sessions are spread out and enjoyable for the dogs. Afternoon Rest and Relaxation: In the afternoon, I make sure the dogs have a quiet and comfortable space to rest. This downtime is essential for their overall well-being and allows them to recharge for more playtime later. Evening Walks and Feeding: During the evening, I take the dogs out for another walk to help them release any pent-up energy from the day. Afterward, I provide dinner, making sure to adhere to any dietary restrictions or instructions provided by the pet owners. Nighttime and Bedtime Routine: Before bedtime, I spend quality time with each dog, offering them affection and attention. I ensure they have access to fresh water and a designated sleeping area that is safe and cozy. Daily Updates for Pet Owners: Throughout the day, I stay in touch with pet owners, providing updates, photos, and videos of their furry friends. This communication helps pet owners feel connected and reassured that their dogs are in good hands. Weekly Enrichment Activities: On a weekly basis, I plan enrichment activities and introduce new toys or puzzles to keep the dogs mentally stimulated and engaged. This could include trips to dog-friendly parks or exploring new walking routes to provide variety and excitement. Continuing Education: I dedicate time to staying informed about the latest pet care practices, training techniques, and health-related matters. This ongoing education ensures that I can offer the best possible care to the dogs I look after. Flexible Schedule for Pet Sitting: As a dog sitter, my schedule is adaptable to accommodate the specific needs of pet owners and their dogs. Whether it's an occasional check-in, a day of care, or an extended stay, I strive to be available and provide reliable service. By integrating pet care into my daily and weekly routine, I create a stable and nurturing environment for the dogs in my care. The love and joy they bring into my life motivate me to ensure they are happy, healthy and cherished every single day.
