Pet care experience
Hi! I am a 24 years old international student, studying politics at UniMi. I have moved to Milan from Istanbul 3 years ago. Back in Istanbul, I started my pet care career by training and fostering stray dogs to help find them forever homes. The fostering meant that a lot of the times I had to deal with poorly socialized, often scared and sometimes even aggresive dogs. It was a rough start but the experience made me realize I had a natural ability to communicate with and understand our furry companions. Turns out a little compassion and empathy is all that is needed to turn a life around. Fast forward to now, I am living in a spacious two-bedroom flat in Central Milan. I miss working with pawed friends and looking for a way to help them in any way I can. This includes walking, training, and spending quality time with them. My roommate was also providing pet care services with Rover a few years ago, so everyone in the house is equipped and happy to help.

Mert a été super! Il s’est déplacé pour venir rencontré Malik avant le séjour. Il a aussi été très accommodant pour mon horaire. Il connaît bien les chiens et son expérience m’a mise en confiance pour mon chien qui a beaucoup d’énergie! Il s’en est bien occupé et m’a fait des suivis tous les jours!

Mert has been a great caregiver for our family dog Minnie this summer. When he asked us to write a review for him we were so excited to recommend him to other pet parents since Minnie really fell in love with him! He even followed our instructions for feeding her to a T (not simple, considering the amount of needs our little doggy has 😅). Thank you Mert! We were more than satisfied with your careful care 😊

My flat has a big living room downstairs, and there are two bedrooms connected with a fenced medium sized balcony upstairs. Every room of the house has air conditioning. I will be spending most of my day in the living room working and studying. I would love to take regular breaks from work to spend time with my guest and can even provide behavioural reinforcement training if you specify your needs and aims.

A typical day
In a typical day, we will start the day with a small breakfast, then we will take a long walk in a big nearby park, possibly play with some other friends in a dog park, if the furry friend has enough energy we can also walk down by navigli to conclude the walk. When we return they’ll have lots of cuddles and if you asked for it, we can do a bit of training/reinforcement to keep their minds engaged. In the afternoon we take a midday walk. To end the day we would take another big walk with possibly playdates on the dog park. When re return we can just kay on the couch together and watch some tv ☺️

Availability
Although I am a full-time student. I am home 90% of the time and I only go to university to take exams. My passion work as a musician is done from my bedroom studio. Every morning at around 8 A.M I take a walk through a big nearby park and sit to meditate. I am really flexible with my daily schedule so feel free to tell me if you have any special needs or routines.
