Pet care experience
I have experience in dog walking and taking care of pets overnight. I would consider my expertise greatest with medium/large dogs and cats because that’s what I grew up with, but I understand how important all of our fur babies are to us and will do my best to take care of any animal as needed.

Merritt did an absolutely amazing job of taking care of our difficult high anxiety dog while we were away as well as leaving our home exactly as it was when we left.
Merritt has pet sit for many families in our neighborhood, since about age 12. She is very attentive to the specific needs of each pet, and enjoys meeting new furry friends, and is comfortable with amphibians, and has even cared for chickens! She takes her responsibilities seriously and can be trusted.
Merritt has always been my go-to cat sitter! She has taken care of my kitty just as if it was her own pet. It's always a good feeling being able to leave my cat in the care of someone I trust!

I know how important schedules are for our pets, and I prioritize being on schedule and showing up when I say I will for feeding, potty breaks, etc. I am also careful when in any clients home to make sure that I do not disrupt anything. I am a pretty calm person, which can be comforting for your pets if they are sad and missing you! I also love getting photos of my pets when I’m out of town, and will be sure to do the same for you.

Please let me know if your pet has any special needs such as medications beforehand! I have given oral medications to dogs and cats, and I am willing to learn how to give it other methods if needed. I know our pets are not humans, but being a nurse I feel more comfortable giving pets medications by many methods. I have taken care of many pets that have anxiety and I am comfortable with helping out with these pets, and very open to gaining experience with other special needs your pets may have!
A typical day
Getting outside and exploring is so important for animal enrichment, and I prioritize spending enough time outside with your pet, whether it’s a walk or play or just sitting in the grass or on a balcony, I don’t want your pet to be bored! I also love being outside too, so as long as that’s what your dog loves that’s what we will do! And for the more inside-oriented dogs and cats, I make sure to prioritize some inside playtime too with favorite toys, and give them lots of snuggles too.

I just moved to Denver and I am taking a break from Rover right now while I get settled in and start my new job. I expect I will not start taking requests until mid/late summer.
