Pyne Pet Care - Exclusive Boarding

Pet care experience

Hello fellow dog parents, My name is Merric and caring for animals is my life's passion. I have a wealth of personal and professional experience and education in caring for dogs and I am happy to open my home to care for your loved one. I spent 5 years working as a Canine Attendant at a cage-free dog daycare/boarding kennel. There, I took care of 10 to 25 dogs at a time and communicated with their parents daily. I'm very much of the mindset that "dogs will be dogs," and I foster a fun and playful environment. In addition to my practical experience at a dog daycare, I have also completed a two-year Animal Care Worker program, with a focus on Shelter Operations. It is a certificate course issued by Georgian College in Barrie, ON., that has taught me a great deal about the behaviour, health, and well-being of dogs. I understand the stress and worry that pet parents have when leaving their pets with a sitter, so I'm happy to keep you updated (via text/picture message, email, call or even FaceTime) so you can see how your little one is doing. During normal circumstance I would welcome you to meet with me and my husband, and tour our home, but because of Covid-19 we're not allowing people inside. (Masks required when meeting outside in driveway) Please feel free to ask me any questions about me, my home, or my experience - I'd be happy to provide you with references and proof of my education.

Merric was a great host! Very responsive, flexible and attentive. Even received a video of Tysha's stay.

This was my first time using Rover and Merrick. Everything worked out great. I will use Merrick again when I need her.

I’m surprised that Jake wanted to come home with us! After seeing the photos and video, he was having a good time and sure enjoyed himself. He was definitely taken care of! Merric and her husband did a fantastic job and I would recommend them! We will be back for sure!

Merric has looked after my dog 2 times prior, and gives him lots of treats, love, and exercise... everything he could possibly want. I will definitely call Merric before considering anyone else

Information Merric P. would like to know about your pet

Is your dog house trained? If not, please let me know and I will continue their education while they stay with me. Does your dog have any physical limitations (eg. difficulty with stairs)? Does your dog have any allergies outside of the known toxic items (grapes, chocolate, etc)? Please provide me with feeding and medication instructions, and anything else I should know to keep your dog happy and healthy. An overnight boarding period lasts 24 hours from the time your dog is dropped off. Owner may be subject to a late pickup fee should pick-up occur outside of the boarding period.

A typical day

I know the importance of daily exercise, so when your pet boards with me they will get a minimum of one, 30 minute walk a day. Weather we hike through Scout Valley, stroll the waterfront at Tudhope or Couchiching Park, or just explore a new neighbourhood, your dog will have a fun adventure every day. You can rest assured that when you leave your beloved pet with me that he/she will enjoy all the same comforts as they would have enjoyed if they had stayed home. My husband and I are both trained and certified in Pet First Aid by Walks ‘N’ Wags. Because I also have a dog, your dog must be friendly with my boy.
