Pet care experience
I've been fostering and taking care of dogs of all sizes and ages since I was in second grade. We had a family dog and multiple fosters for years that would rotate in and out that had different medical and attentive needs. I adopted a 6 week old puppy in college who had seizures and stomach problems that required extra medical attention and I took great care of her during busy college times. I have limited experience taking care of cats, my roommate in college had a cat and my roommate right out of college had a cat so I have some familiarity. When I lived in Ohio, I worked in the same city one of my friends lived in and I would routinely let her three dogs out when she was out or at work. Unfortunately, I currently do not have any pets with me. I just moved to Colorado in October and my family pets live at my parents house in Ohio.
Reviews
Meredith stayed with our two girls (a large black shepherd mix, and a smaller Aussie mix) for two nights at our home. She did a great job taking care of them! The Aussie was a new addition (5 year old rescue) and it was a challenge to manage them as they weren't quite BFFs yet. Meredith worked well with them both, handled feeding / meds perfectly, texted if any issues arose, etc. It was nice to get away for a long weekend and know the girls were well taken care of! Meredith did a fantastic job for us.

My family dogs now require quite a bit of medical care. They both have anxiety, stomach problems, amongst other issues (never any fleas, don't worry!). One of them is my college puppy who still requires quite a bit of care (multiple medicines at breakfast and dinner) and another is a puppy mill dog we rescued. They are very bonded with each other and both are quite regimented and need to stay on a consistent schedule. I've also dog sat for two dogs who could not be in the same room and needed to be separated for everything- potty time, feeding time, etc. I am very used to regimented schedules and animals with unique needs! Funny story, when I worked in an emergency room a cat walked through our doors and our metal detector in the middle of the night and I found a cat-filled home for him with one of my friends!
Information Meredith W. would like to know about your pet
Prior to the visit/walk/drop in, it would be helpful to know if they can have treats (dog treats, cheese, peanut butter, etc.), any special medical issues (seizures, pregnant, etc.), how socialized they are with other animals, whether or not a dog park would be a good place for them to go to, and what kind of walks they like (long hikes, short neighborhood walks, etc.), and how well they do meeting someone new (me!).
A typical day
I love to be outside so if your dog loves long walks, we can go hiking (I use the AllTrails app so if you have any suggestions, let me know!). We can also go to a park and play outdoor fetch with a ball or frisbee or stop at a dog park for some socialization practice. I am also used to dogs who get a lot of anxiety with walking and being in unfamiliar areas so if there are certain places they are comfortable with, we can stay where he/she is comfortable.

I am currently a flight paramedic and work 7 days on, 7 days off (Wednesday-Wednesday). In January, my schedule changes to 5 days on, 10 days. With this weird schedule, booking in advance would be most helpful! I also understand when pets have lots of needs and requirements and can accomodate to what your pet needs! Being a paramedic, I completely understand how difficult having a weird schedule can be and am totally flexible with scheduling!
