Hi! My name is Meredith and I live in the Upper East Side. I grew up with at least one dog in my household at a time (my parents currently have two Standard Poodles back in Indiana!) I am extremely comfortable around small, medium, or large dogs and any dog breed. I decided to get involved with Rover because I miss interacting with dogs of any size and breed since they bring me such joy! I'm most happy when I'm surrounded by dogs, especially since I miss mine from home! My college roommate used to train service dogs during our college school years, so I am very comfortable around different types of dogs. I've dog-sat for family and friends both in overnight settings and day care settings for about four years. With my full-time job being remote and very flexible, I have more time to be there for you and your furry friends! I would be more than happy to provide a list of references for you. Most importantly, I know that our pets are our family members, so I am prepared to take each one of my jobs very seriously.

Your pets are most comfortable in your own home so I will use any bedding, toys, food, leashes, harnesses, etc. that are provided to me to make sure the only thing your pet is missing is you! Though, we will dedicate tons of time to walks, playing, and cuddling so they will be too busy to miss you :)

Information Meredith S. would like to know about your pet
I do not have any breed preferences, but I would prefer to know if a dog is house trained before sitting him/her. I would also prefer to know if the dog is comfortable with leash walking and/or is vocal, either inside the house or outside of the house. I prefer my clients to provide me with a list of emergency contacts before they leave their pet with me as well as a feeding schedule.
A typical day
I love to take dogs on walks and (with your permission) and get them outside as much as possible! I live just a few blocks from Carl Schurz Park which has a beautiful walking path along the East River next to several grassy areas. The park has a large and small dog park but I would only take your pet there if you are comfortable with me doing that . If not, that's okay! There will be lots to sniff and explore on the walking path alone! If for some reason your pet gets dirty while out on a walk or at the dog park, I would be more than happy to give them a bath before returning he/she to their owner, though it would have to be at the owner's place of living since my building unfortunately does not allow any pets. I am a big fan of giving belly rubs, head/chin scratches, playing tug of war, throwing tennis balls, or just relaxing on the floor or couch with your pet.

Availability
I work from home so I would be available for several 30-45 minute walks and/or potty breaks with more free time in the evening after 6pm. I am most available on Saturdays and Sundays and I can dedicate entire weekends to dog sitting and/or dog walking!
