I'm an avid animal lover who has an innate and magnetic drive to have dogs in my day-to-day life. I grew up with dogs, have fostered many through Secondhand Hounds, and have a pup of my own, all the while doggysitting and looking over the pups of my friends and family members on a consistent basis. Is it embarrassing to admit to frequently acknowledging a dog on a leash before looking at the owner? I'm asking for a friend... My resident dog, Clara, and I visit various dog parks and we can often be found walking around Lake Calhoun, Lake Harriet, Lake of the Isles and the Minnehaha off leash recreation area on nearly a daily basis. Your dog is welcome to join us! I own a home with a large backyard; although not currently fully fenced, I do have an aerial dog run (basically a 60ft zipline that goes from my house to the other side of the lot) that provides both security to dogs who are more prone to roaming and the ability to still fully enjoy the yard without being on a standalone tie-out. I do not leave the dogs outside unattended and will ensure that the potty breaks for each dog are appropriate to their needs. Clara is a 1.5 year old Aussie mix. She's friendly, happy, independent, and very mellow. Although mellow, she loves to play with others and doesn't have one mean bone in her body. She loves the company of other pups and adjusts her energy level to mesh with other dogs she's playing with (she's very playful with ones who loves to play, and leaves the ones alone who prefer to lounge). She also leaves dogs alone who very clearly do not want the attention of company of another fur friend. Because of her ability and intuition to adjust her play level and attention to other dogs, she is GREAT with dogs of all ages, sizes and temperaments. I work 8:30am-5pm M-F but my home is very close to my place of work so I have the flexibility of going home for doggy potty breaks and mid-day play, if necessary. I'd like to understand the needs of your dog and will ensure that his/her daily routine and training needs are maintained and carried over in my care. I have worked with dogs of all ages and all breeds, and understand that every one is different and many have little nuances. I am experienced in administering medications and catering to other health needs. I'm happy to talk with you about the needs of your dog to ensure he/she is happy during his/her time at our home!
