Beloved Animal Companion Care

Pet care experience

I’ve been working part time as a pet sitter for over 6 years in places such as Scotland, Washington, DC, North & South Carolina, Virginia, Spain and Utah! I’ve watched dogs, cats, dogs and cats together, it’s brought so much joy to my life. I work full time at an anti-human trafficking nonprofit, so watching pets has always been a nice break from my day job. I live in Park City but able to commute within reason. I’ve watched pets that are a few months old up to senior care. I have overnight stay experience as well as the normal walking, feeding, cleanup experience. I’m here to help the best I can, whether it be playing, walking, cleanup, or just on the couch enjoying each other’s company! I’m attentive, responsive, and try to be a thorough communicator where needed! Skills: * Ability to work with animals and to remain calm in strenuous circumstances. * Excellent problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to follow instructions. * Excellent time management skills. * Ability to meet customers needs and provide necessary assistance.

Mercy has been walking Red, my German Shepard/Husky mix, for just over three months. Mercy has developed a great relationship with Red. When Red is frustrated with me he lays down at the bottom of the steps near the front door, I'm sure he hoping Mercy walk in. When Red had "stomach pains" Mercy went above and beyond by staying with him throughout my 12-hr shift so Red could go outside every couple hours. Red and I value Mercy very much.

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for a pet in the owner home, I treat it as if it was my home. It is imperative to be respectful of space, knowing that the owner trust me to do the best job with their pet, and their home. Keeping it clean, and caring for their pet as if it were my own is important!

Exercise requirements: Understand your pet's activity level and exercise needs, including preferred activities, duration of walks, and any restrictions or limitations. Behavior and temperament: Learning about your pet's behavior, personality traits, likes, and dislikes help me to be aware of any triggers or situations that may cause discomfort. Emergency contacts: Having contact information for the you, the owner, as well as backup emergency contacts in case I need assistance or have questions while pet sitting. House rules: I want to respect any household rules or restrictions set by you, such as areas of the house your pet is allowed in or specific care instructions.

A typical day

I aim to engage pets in various fun activities tailored to their preferences and energy levels! Some ideas include: - Interactive play sessions with toys like balls and ropes. - Outdoor adventures such as walks, hikes, or visits to dog parks. - Training sessions to reinforce good behavior and teach new tricks. - As always, cuddling and grooming sessions for relaxation and bonding. - Enrichment activities like hide-and-seek with treats or sensory games. - I love soothing music sessions for calm and stress relief.
