Hello, my name is Mercedes. I moved here from Bakersfield, Ca and resided in Sacramento, CA for about 17 years. I have been taking care of dogs ranging from Large Breeds such as German Shepherd, Labrador Retriever, Pitbull, and St. Bernard to Small Breeds such as the Yorkshire Terrier, Chihuahua, and Maltese since age 9 from Ages 4 weeks to 10+ years. This includes puppies under 6 weeks to 11 weeks which require a strict feeding schedule of (every 2-4 hours), grooming, potty training, mastering basic commands such as sit, stay, down, come, along with walking on a leash to learning how to fetch. I have also cared for older breeds (10+) which I believe they all have that spark inside of them of their younger years. I previously owned a 2 year old Danebull (Great Dane/Red Nose Pitbull) named Bosco, whom I've had the greatest opportunity to provide the best home possible. Bosco was previously physically abused, suffered from an allergic reaction which resulted in rejection of food, rashes on skin, hair loss and 1 unhappy guy with a sparkle of hope in his eyes. After 2 years of around the clock care, change in food (He was allergic to Chicken, Beef, Pork, and Corn....but Deer and Buffalo Jerky came in handy), his personality changed from timid to "Hello, my name is Bosco. This is my family and that girl over there is my best friend, nice to meet you....I give kisses in abundance and I love to take long walks and naps. Would you like to play and be my friend?", his weight increased from 60 lbs to 78 lbs, skin condition resulted in the inability to grow his winter coat...but he loved his grey parka (not plaid...too much lol), car rides, meeting new friends (kittens included which he just snuggled and licked) and he loved all kids and people. As long as the thermometer was not around......which I would not blame him when he would hide and tuck his tail. My little Scooby Doo loves his scooby snacks after the Vet Visit. I am available on Weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:000m. Per my work schedule (nights), I will accommodate yet I do appreciate your patience and understanding.
