Pet care experience
Not only do I have my own service dog whom I’ve trained, I have helped several people with training their own dogs through challenges such as anxiety and leash pulling and service dog training, am certified in pet CPR and first aid, and am now earning my certification as a professional dog trainer. I’ve sat dogs for several years now, and have handled a multitude of sizes. I hold the leadership air, and most dogs I meet know that. People I know request my help with all sorts of canine needs. I’ve even had some people tell me I’m the only one they trust to help them with their dogs. I understand the deep importance of exercise for a dog and will provide all the exercise needed for any energy level. Have a high-drive Malinois who can run for hours? How about a tiny-but-mighty Terrier who needs to move those little legs? Whatever you need I have you covered. If you have a dog who is not comfortable playing with other dogs I can bring my dog’s crate with me to keep them separated during the stay. If your dog does enjoy a little roughhousing with other dogs then Lexie is totally down to tumble. She’s fully vaccinated and happy to wrestle and chase with other friendly pups. All play will always be supervised and my own dog will never be left unattended in a client’s home. For just going on walks or doing drop-ins I will happily go without my pup, so if you have a dog who doesn’t like other dogs but needs some exercise or midday attention that’s easily doable. Let me know that during the appointment setup process!
Reviews
Melody is one of the most nurturing pet owners I've ever met. I think they'll be a good fit because they wouldn't be able to live with themselves if the animals weren't taken care of properly. They would do everything they could to ensure that the dogs had everything that they needed done taken care of. I would even trust Melody with my own pets. They would make an excellent addition to your caretakers.
Melody had watched my dogs on multiple occasions. She has always made sure to treat them like her own furr babies. She does yank on leashes and us very precise with feeding time. In addition, she brings greenies and toys for longer visits. Chris Green
In the three years I’ve known Melody, she has always been responsible, diligent, and knowledgeable in the case of animal care taking. She has a service dog in training that she continuously cares for, loves, and trains! She is by far the most worthy candidate for this opportunity that I know of! I cannot recommend her enough, she has my most sincere recommendation!!

Information Melody S. would like to know about your pet
Dog-friendly? Any overnight needs like crating or a specific toy or removing of water? Any spots on the dog’s body which they do not like being pet at? What all vaccines does the dog have up to date? No specific breed preferences; I am comfortable to handle all breeds.
A typical day
I like to do game training with dogs, like teaching how to properly play fetch or finding a toy/treat. I also like to use a “no free lunch” policy especially on high-drive dogs; it helps to make mealtime fun and provides enrichment, not to mention it really helps with impulse control and obedience. Walks are another learning time! While part of it is adventure, another part is building manners and really solidifying obedience skills. Learning is fun for dogs! I love to incorporate learning into every part of the day. It keeps dogs on their toes, keeps their minds busy, and keeps them paying attention and excited for the next activity.
