Pet care experience
I love taking care of dogs. Currently do not have a dog in the house which would make it easy for your dog to adjust. Live in a single family home in the Bay View neighborhood. Close to Humboldt park where I love to walk dogs in the AM before work. Home has a completely fenced in yard and is air conditioned with several windows for animals to look out of when not outside. If pet sitting is needed during the week, they may be alone up to 10 hours. I find that I'm usually a better fit for dogs that are accustomed to being alone during the day. Dogs are allowed to roam freely in the house while I'm away if that is what they are accustomed to. I will also work to provide the same rules and training that you enforce in your home, ie walking habits, allowed on furniture, treats, etc. As I do work during the week, I can only do week day drop offs in the evening. I am able to accommodate weekday morning pickups if they are prior to 7:45 and evening pick ups after 5pm. Prior to taking on a new client, I will require a meet and greet to ensure both you and I (and your pup) are comfortable. This will also give us a chance to discuss any questions or concerns that either party has, to see the house and let me know what concerns you have or things I should look out for. I ask that all dog parents be as honest as possible about their pup and how they have previously responded to being in a unfamiliar place or any other info that would be helpful for me to know while they are under my care. The more I know about your dog and it's quirks that better I'm able to take care of it.
Reviews
Melody was great! Elsa was so content hanging out in her home and enjoying the yard. We got plenty of updates and pictures throughout the weekend. We'd definitely book with Melody again.
Melody was great with my dog, Eve. It provided me with some comfort while I was out of town to know that Eve was receiving plenty of one-on-one attention. I really enjoyed getting daily updates via text message from Melody, and even a few pictures. Next time I go out of town, I would definitely ask Melody to watch Eve again.
Melody was so kind and patient - we are a tad overly attached to our dog and this was our first rover experience. Couldn’t have went better and we are hopeful to use her again soon!
First time experience with Melody on rover and it went well. She sent pictures and updates on Shepard. Overall my dog seemed to enjoy his stay. Best thing about Melodys house was it was fenced in with no other dogs/pets so Shepard had all the attention needed with no problems. Will board with Melody in the future.

Completing your dog's profile in as much detail as possible is helpful for a great stay. Below is a list of questions that can be helpful when completing your dogs profile. If your dogs profile is missing care info or vet I will ask that you fill out a form prior to handing your dog over for care. -How long have you had your dog? -Can you describe your dogs personality? -Have you had a stranger watch your dog before? Any issues? -Any past history with house training or being destructive? -Any history with biting or nipping? -What are her favorite activities? -Does she get along with other dogs she meets on the street? - Any food/drug allergies? - Any special needs or medications? - Any phobias or fears that I should be aware of? ex: loud noises, thunderstorms, children/adults, vacuum cleaner :) - Any history of jumping fences or running away? -What is your general feeding schedule? Frequency, quantity, and brand. ( Please bring enough food for your pet's entire stay) - What kinds of treats do you allow your dog to have and how often? - Do you crate your dog? If so, when and for how long? I do no have a crate, so if crating is necessary please bring one for the stay. - How often is your dog typically walked? How are they on a leash and do they walk on a specific side? Are they afraid of busy streets? - Any quirks your dog may have? - Where does the dog sleep? - Does your dog have history of anxiety when at home or away from the home? I have seen anxiety displayed the following ways: lack of appetite, restlessness, pacing, destructive behavior, etc.
A typical day
When your dog stays with me, they will enjoy time in the yard and walks in Humboldt park. I am also able to take them to a dog park if your pup is accustomed to going to one and has a history of getting along with other dogs.
