NOTE: I am currently only accepting cat clients at this time. NOTE: I cannot accommodate weekday morning drop-in visits. If your cat requires morning care on a weekday, please book a house-sitting stay. Hello! I am a Northwest DC resident available to take care of your cat while you are away. I recently returned to DC after 4 years overseas and excited to start my cat-sitting side hustle back up! I am The Human to two adorable and feisty rescue cats. I was a Rover sitter for almost 5 years prior to going overseas and enjoyed myself immensely! I've taken care of cats large or small, sweet or cranky, affectionate or shy. I work hard to make sure every pet and their Human are comfortable with me being in charge of their care. Services I can provide include, but are not limited to, the following: Overnight housesitting in your home Cat care (feeding, grooming, litter box maintenance, playtime) In addition to the services listed above, I can also bring in your mail/newspaper/packages, feed other small pets (fish/hamsters) and water plants, at no additional cost. DROP IN VISITS: As I work a full-time office job, my drop-in availability is after 5:30pm on weekdays. I am generally flexible on weekends and holidays. *Photos* Each clients receives at least one photo update daily. These can be sent via the Rover app, text, and/or email. **DISCLAIMER: For all date inquiries, especially major holidays, I book with the first clients that make it a priority to complete the M&G and booking process. This may not necessarily be the client that first contacts me about date availability.*

Melissa is a fantastic house and — more importantly— cat sitter. She is so detail-oriented, trustworthy and flexible. She sent great and frequent reports on how my elderly cat was doing during my recent (and lengthy) vacation. Melissa left my house clean and in great shape. My cat was happy and relaxed and I know was well-loved while I was gone. I can’t say enough complimentary things about her and will definitely request she sit again for future trips.

As a cat-lover, I understand that some kitties are affectionate and some kitties like their personal space. I will follow your cat's lead in the amount of hands-on care and affection they would like. I am happy to sit and read my book and keep them company, whether it is snuggles on the couch or just being a human presence in the home. As for basic care, they will get fresh food and water, and a litterbox cleaning at each visit, plus any other requests agreed upon.

I would like to know the following about your cat: - Do they have any special needs/routines? Allergies? - Does anything make them nervous? Storms?
A typical day
PLEASE NOTE: I am currently only accepting new cat clients at this time. Regardless of the day of the week, your kitty will gets tons of cuddles (if they enjoy that sort of thing) while reading or watching TV. Your pet(s) will be treated as one of the family while they are in my care! Taking care of your cat will be as much of a treat for me as it will be for them! I like playtime, and enjoy a good game of toss the mousey toy! On the weekends, I can provide whatever care is necessary.

I can accommodate visits after 5:30PM on weekdays, and anytime on the weekends. If you would like morning and evening care, please book the house-sitting service.
