Hi there. Animals are my passion, especially Golden Retrievers. I fell in love with the breed at a very young age, sitting my neighbor’s Golden when I was just shy of 13 years old. Flash forward several years later, and my love for the breed, and dogs of all sizes, continues to grow. After the loss of my own Golden Retriever a few years ago, I began sitting again for close family friends to fill the gap - eventually creating a Rover profile to not only form new connections with other dog owners, but to get my dog fix while I was unable to have my own. Dog sitting in the comfort of ones home is definitely the best environment for your animal. I have had experience with boarding my golden at a local kennel. She was timid to begin with, and her being in an environment for a weekend with 20+ other dogs, alone in a cage, surrounded by noise did not help. I am trustworthy, dependable and caring. I ensure you that I will treat your animal as if he/she were my own. I love animals of all sizes. Quite literally (I have a slight obsession for cows, horses - any type of farm animal really..) About Melissa S. I graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and currently work for an Insurance Broker full-time, with a semi-flexible work schedule. Please be aware I do work a full-time job, Monday-Friday. I am available to look after your animal anytime prior to 8am, during lunch from 12-1, and in the evenings after 4:30pm. I am free on weekends. In my spare time, I love being outdoors and staying active. Hiking, mountain biking, camping and spending time with friends. Please let me know specific details regarding your animal. i.e. medication requirements, aggression with other animals, separation anxiety, escape-artist, potty trained, leash trained, feed schedule, etc. It’s important for me to know as much as I can prior to our visit. **Please make sure that your animal is up-to-date on all vaccinations and is flea-free. -Melissa S.
