Pet care experience
I’ve been taking care of pets on Rover for 2 summers and I love it! Previously, I have worked at a doggy (and cat) daycare and boarding facility for 3.5 years, so I have experience feeding, walking, and caring for dogs of all breeds and ages. Throughout working there, I learned how to look for symptoms of dogs that are overheating or sick. Also, my friends and neighbors have relied on me to watch their homes while taking care of their pets. Growing up, my family had a dog and cat so I gained experience caring for animals of my own from a young age.

Reliable and great with my dog!
Melissa was absolutely amazing. She was prompt, CLEARLY concerned that she had all the information she needed to take care of my cats, and flexible about some last minute complications with my plans. Melissa sent me awesome pictures and notes each day, and had my shy, timid boy eating up her affection. I would not hesitate to recommend her.
Melissa is wonderful with dogs! Trevor loves her! He took to Melissa right away and eagerly waited for a walk with her every time. She was able to firmly yet kindly handle our 85 pound dog without a problem. She walked our big boy twice a day for a week. She not only is good with pets, she is a great communicator and has a kind heart. Thank you, Melissa!

A typical day
I love to keep your dogs happy based off of their personalities. I enjoy playing lots of fetch and tug of war with dogs who have a lot of energy, but I also love cuddling and giving belly rubs to dogs who enjoy those activities. If your dog has a favorite toy, let me know and we'll play with that!

Availability
I work in education and am looking to play with dogs and cats in my free time this summer! I’m looking forward to walking, playing, and giving lots of love to dogs and cats whenever I’m available! At the moment, I am mainly looking to provide dog walking and drop-ins. My availability this summer is not as consistent as I’d like, but please reach out and we can see if we can make it work!
