Pet care experience
I have been taking care of animals since a very young age. I have always loved animals and aside from the many pets of my own that I was responsible for caring for I assisted with caring for neighbors cats and dos while they were at work or away for a weekend. Caring for my own animals has been daily care for cats, freshwater aquariums, turtles, hamsters, mice, rabbits, and guinea pigs. I currently have two kitties that are my world, and a bunch of fish! I have been hired to care for all of these animals as well as dogs. My responsabilities when caring for dogs has been potty break check-ins , feeding, walking, and spending quality time. I have also cared for partially outdoor cats where I have gone to the owner's house a few times a day to let the cat in and out, as well as feed and spend time with them.

Melissa is everything we have been looking for in a pet sitter! My husband and I don’t have human kids so our dogs are our kids. We used to hate leaving them. Once we found Melissa, we were finally able to travel and feel completely at ease. She’s fantastic with both of our dogs and they absolutely love her! You can tell Melissa truly loves animals and what she does. She also sends the best picture updates! Melissa was super patient for our first trip with the typical helicopter dog Mom over here. She answered all of my questions and made us feel comfortable with everything. Since then, Melissa has watched our pups a few times and each experience has been fantastic. We would highly recommend Melissa. We are so lucky to have found her!
Melissa was great with our dog! I cannot express enough how comfortable I felt leaving him in her care. He was well fed, cared for, and played with. I will definitely rebook with her again.

I will not be able to care for larger animals in my home due to not wanting to disrupt the lives of my two cats. I could however bring a hamster or small pet over if the circumstances were right. When I care for animals in client's homes it is very important to me to not only be able to care for their basic needs, food, fresh water, brushing, but to be able to spend time with them so they feel loved and cared for. When I care for other people pets I treat them how I would want someone to care for my pets. My pets have always meant the world to me and I understand that they are a part of the family. I also understand that all animals can have different temperaments and I would respect your pets preferences and boundaries. For example I have two cats, one loves to be held and the other prefers to feel the love by sitting next to you, not being held or on your lap. I do not try to force one to be like the other simply because I would love to just hold her all day long, I respect that's who she is and I love her for it.

It's important for me to know your pets temperament and their likes and dislikes. If your cat does not ever want to be held, then let me know, if they love to beheld like a baby, please also let me know so I can do so :). If they like their food placed in a certain spot, or provided in a specific way, it is always helpful to know so I can keep their routine as much as possible. I understand that cats are creatures of habit and can like things done a certain way.
A typical day
I really like to customize how I interact with your pets by what they like to do. If your cat really loves to be pat on the head and get chin scratches, then I am here for it. If they enjoy having some fun and playing with toys, I would absolutely love to do so. My goal is to make them as happy as possible during our time together.

Availability
I am currently working full time, aside from being available before and after work I can also care for pets on my lunch break it it is close enough. I am pretty free before and after work, as well as during the day on weekends or breaks on week days. I do not have any restrictions for days of the week as I can care for your pets all 7 days. The only exception would be if it were to be a weekend or week where I am out of town on vacation myself.
