I would highly recommend Melissa, who took wonderful care of our cat over a 36 hour stay in our apt. It's instantly clear how much she truly cares about animals. She made a great effort to understand our cats routine, likes, etc. to ensure he felt completely at ease while we were away. We've used a few sitters on here before and Melissa was by far the best. She will be our go-to sitter from ...

Melissa was amazing with our puppy Leo. It was our first time leaving him since we got him and it couldn’t have gone better! Melissa made sure he was happy at all times. She taught him to walk on a leash and how to ‘sit’ and ‘stay’. She was in constant contact with us sending updates and pictures and asking questions to make sure she was following our schedule. We would definitely use her ...

We have been using Melissa for almost a year now and we love having her help every week. She not only understands dogs and loves them, but makes sure to give each dog her undivided attention during every walking session. She is very caring and even provides feedback on how to improve dog training. Love having her as a walker and would highly recommend!

What Melissa would like to know about your dog

For safety precautions on our walk, I would like to know how your dog is on the leash. For example, does he interact well with other dogs? Does he get excited and lunge at squirrels or children? Does he have any throat/trachea problems that require a harness instead of a collar?

I really like to know a lot about your dog so I can provide the best care based on his/her specific needs and personality type.

When Melissa watches your pet

While every dog has physical needs (running, jumping, eating your shoes) they also have psychological needs. The activities will be simple but require them to focus, which is really good for challenging the mind and making your dog feel purposeful! I can practice basic training commands with them, reward them for good behavior on their walks.
I will provide the kind of walk your dog needs based on his/her energy level. For a walk I preferably like to go to parks or areas with lots of space, away from crowds, but if the dog has a usual route I can accommodate.
