Lover of all pups!
Pet care experience
I don’t have a dog myself because my current building doesn’t allow them, but my family upstate has had a dog in the house for the last 21 years. Our first was a black lab we got at 9 weeks old until she passed at 15. Our second is a shih tzu we rescued from a local shelter at an estimated 2 years old who is now 6. With these two pups, I've had a range of behavior experience. - Our black lab was very hyper almost her whole life until maybe 13 or 14. She jumped on every visitor because she had too much love to give and she pulled on her leash during walks for the same reason. So I know how to deal with overly excited pups very well. - Our shih tzu has been the complete opposite. He's very low maintenance around the house with a protective bark or two when a visitor first arrives, but after that he'll make even the most cautious person of dogs love him. The only exception is when he's out and about and encounters a big dog. Then he goes into aggression mode and barks/pulls on the leash a lot. So I also am very aware of this potential interaction and how to de-escalate the situation. I really love every dog I see on the street and can't wait to spend a little time with your pup to give him/her some love while you're away!
Reviews
I forgot to write a review for Melissa! But she was great. Poor Chewy had some accidents at home and she was super helpful and picked up his messes. Really appreciated her!
Absolutely the best!!! We love Melissa!
Reliable and very responsible. Detail description about the walk and Noah’s behavior. I definitely recommend Melissa.
Melissa was absolutely wonderful with our cat! She did a wonderful job taking care of him while we were away and it is clear from the photos that our cat warmed right up to her.

Information Melissa P. would like to know about your pet
It's always good to know anything unexpected about a particular pup like what I've had with my shih tzu. Do they not like big dogs or small dogs? Do they tend to eat everything off the ground (so I can think about what walking route to take them on)? Do they expect a treat before/after every walk? Should they not be given any treats? Anything that will make sure the pup is comfortable and I can do whatever I can to keep him/her on the right schedule of things they're used to.
A typical day
If there's a nearby park, I would love to take dogs there to get their paws walking on some grass in the concrete jungle. I think even city dogs really thrive here. Or if it's allowed in an apartment, I'd love to play fetch and give them some fun play time. The best though is a cuddly pup who will curl up in your leg nook for a snooze. It's the sweetest.
