Pet care experience
I’ve owned dogs my entire life, including special needs. My last dog was deaf and afraid of people, so I learned a lot about body language and handling dogs through owning her. I love dogs and often care for family members dogs when they are away because they know they will get lots of attention and good care. We recently lost our pup to a heart condition, it’s left a big whole in our home and I am not ready to replace her. I thought of fostering, but would want to keep the dogs. I always found it hard to find a good spot to board her so thought I would offer boarding in my home as an alternative. Your pup will be treated as our own while you are away.

Melissa was the absolute best!!! I got daily updates with pictures of Frankie getting cuddles and so much attention. I could tell he was always smiling. Thank you so much!!!
Melissa and her daughter were amazing! I’m afraid my babies miss them more than they missed me! I got daily updates and I could tell my pups were very comfortable and loving life! Melissa even bathed them both before I picked them up. I’m forever grateful and I will keep bugging her for future trips (if she’s available). It was such a relief knowing they were pampered and in great hands. Thank you!
Melissa was great and went above and beyond to care for our dog.

My house is designed around always having dogs. Your pet will hopefully feel at home here. I don’t have any other pets in my home, so they will have the run of the place and get lots of love and attention. I have dog doors to my fenced yard. A doggie pool for them in the summer, dog beds, crates, and steps for the car to go for rides. My backyard is xeriscaped and dogs seem to like exploring. I also have a dig box for those that like to dig. You bring food and treats and I do the rest. Open to giving meds and dogs that need special care. My dog was very spoiled, so yours will be as well 😊 It is stressful enough for them to be away from you, so I try to provide them as close to their home experience as possible.

Information Melissa P. would like to know about your pet
What is their 1st potty break and last potty break for the day? Do they mind being picked up if needed? Any Triggers? Any Resource Guarding? Do they normally get treats? Do they normally get table food? Habits you want me to reinforce? Behaviors you want me to discourage? Any behavior quirks to be aware of? (Especially the cute ones!)
A typical day
Walk in the morning when we get up and usually dog puzzles or snuffle mats to tire their brains in the morning. My daughter loves setting up dog puzzles. Take a lunch break for a walk, car ride or just spend time in the yard. Spring and summer I like to work outside when my calendar allows it. They can laze around in the back yard all day. I also am usually in my yard on the weekends when weather permits and my daughter as well. She is 12 and loves chase and playing ball with the dogs!

I WFH full time from home so your pup will rarely be alone. I also have 2 dog doors to an outside fenced yard, so your pup can come and go as they please during the day if they enjoy being outside. Have a little beach at the end of the street if they like going in the water and will take for walks in local parks when weather permits.
