Years of Loving experience to share
Pet care experience
I grew up with pets in the house, both small dogs and cats. I was often on my grandparents farm interacting with all types of different animals. I have been lucky enough to have owned three dogs. One was a Bernie’s Mountain dog named Prana (breath of Life,) the two other were Siberian husky mixes; Smokey was a rescue dog, and Lady was a stray I adopted from the Matsu shelter. I have lots of experience in training dogs, exercising with dogs, loving, massaging, and hugging on dogs. I am currently looking to adopt a light colored golden retriever as my last fur baby has crossed the bridge. I often watch my friends dogs just to get my “dog fix,” or have an exercise and cuddle buddy.
Reviews
Melissa is the best dog sitter I could ever asked for! She did absolutely amazing with my dog. I’m very happy and thankful that I get to do my errands in peace, and knowing that my dog is in good hands. Very very satisfied.
Melissa is wonderful with dogs, she treats them like family! Not only will she exercise them but she trainings them along the way making your own experience walking your dog better, I know from personal experience. You will not be disappointed hiring Melissa to walk your pet!
Melissa is one of the most caring and responsible pet sitters I have ever had watch my dogs. She's very knowledgeable about pet care and dog behavior. Not only is she great with the animals but she is 100% reliable. I trust her with my dogs and know they are in good hands when they are in her care.

I have a secure fenced in yard with an 8 foot high wooden fenced. I always walk dogs on a leash. I will kennel your dog, if wanted or necessary. A seat belt is used for car rides. I never take your dog anywhere without prior permission before boarding.

Information Melissa M. would like to know about your pet
It is important for me to know if your dog is on any medication. I prefer a written and well laid out medication/food time letter or chart as well as any special needs listed on the letter as well. I will need to know the commands your dog knows as well as any special "release" words if used. This is important because some people will use the term down to mean get down from or off something/somebody and some people use the term down for the dog to lay down versus using the wording "lay down." If I am at your house I will need to know the house rules for your dog. If I am boarding at my house I will need to know that your dog is not a "chewer," if they are crate trained etc. I only walk dogs who are socialized UNLESS I know ahead of time what your dogs reaction will be around other dogs and whether or not it has special needs in a social walk situation. (In other words if your dog is aggressive with another dog, I will likely not walk them on a busy trail.)
A typical day
I love to stimulate your dogs physically and mentally. I will reinforce your dogs training in a fun way, either along walks or just here and there in the house. Exercise is dependent on your dogs personal needs. I am able to walk or run them up to 3 miles. (5 miles if walking/running together.)

I currently work part time, mostly from my home office so I have plenty of time to love on and spend with your pet. I do work one full day a week (Wednesday,) at a medical clinic in town, but either myself or my husband would be able to let the pups out mid day if needed. I was a dog mom up until November 2019, so I have no problem fitting pet care into my daily routine.
