Hi! I’m Melissa, a 34-year-old working professional. I am a dog and cat lover with experience watching puppies, kittens, cats and dogs. I love getting to know a dog or cat’s unique personality. I enjoy taking dogs on long walks and to the dog park. If your dog is more adventurous, I would love to take them hiking or to a local county park. I will also play with your dog inside/outside with their favorite toys. Additionally, I have several years of housesitting experience for neighbors and community members while they are on vacation. I am comfortable tending to daily chores such as watering plants, checking the mail and keeping a general eye on things in addition to feeding and caring for pets. I can't wait to meet your four legged friends! I work full time from home and have the flexibility to care for your pets during weekdays and throughout the weekend. If we agree to it, my fiancé Chris (has had many pets & is an animal lover) can help out on jobs as well.

Melissa stayed at our house with our dog Hartley for 5 days while we were on a little vacation. She was wonderful with him; sent me updates and pictures and he was very content when we got home. Melissa is reliable, relaxed and comfortable with our pet, and left the house in good shape. We have already rebooked with her for next spring.
Melissa and Chris took great care of Tyler (at 13 weeks) in my home for two consecutive nights. His first nights without me home. I felt very comfortable with leaving him in their care. Thank you!!

A typical day
I would love to give your pet lots of attention and care, adjusting to their individual personalities and needs. I am happy to feed dogs and cats and administer medication on their regular routine. We will take multiple walks a day and make sure there’s plenty of play time and time to get out energy. There are several gorgeous parks in Montclair, including Brookdale Park, the more rustic Mills Reservation, and Eagle Rock Reservation. I’m happy to share photos and videos of your pet with you daily!

Pet care fits well into my weekly routine because I work full-time from home and have a flexible schedule. I have plenty of time to take walks during the day, and care for pets. I love spending time in nature and frequent local parks - I would love to have a furry friend join me! I have additional availability on nights and weekends.
