Hey! My name is Melissa, I am 29 years old and originally from Durham, North Carolina. I moved to Philadelphia to complete my Masters at UPenn. I have always had pets growing up and many roommates with animals I have helped raise. I really enjoy the outdoors and would love to have a walking buddy. I’m also available for house sitting since much of my time is spent writing papers. I am currently on summer break until August. When school starts back I will have breaks between classes to tend to your pets and home. I’m happy to send updates and photos. Simply put — I will treat you how I want to be treated. This includes respect for your space, belongings, pets, and preferences. Im very easy to work with.

Our dog Bailey adores Melissa! Melissa has clearly always been a pet-lover, and when Bailey sees Melissa, she gets so excited. Melissa is so loving to her, understanding of our dog's extreme energy, and always seems to know and anticipate what Bailey needs. Any family with a pet would be lucky to have Melissa look after their animal. We feel so secure and happy when we know Bailey is in her presence and care.
Melissa was amazing! I have two cats, two dogs and three turtles. One of my dogs has a lot of anxiety and I don't often leave him. He immediately took to Melissa and felt safe with her. I came home to very happy, calm animals. Melissa was very responsive to texts and calls. She sent me pictures and videos to update me during our trip. I was able to enjoy myself knowing my pets were in such good hands. She was caring, tidy, and professional. I would 100% recommend Melissa and hope she is available for the next time I need pet care! She is a gem!
Melissa is an extremely compassionate and empathetic person not only towards animals but people as well. My dog Bodie is obsessed with her and every time he sees her he cries out and goes immediately to bring her a toy. Melissa is responsible and an excellent communicator truly someone you just don’t have to worry about doing anything unethical. My dog is my baby and I would leave him with her any day without concern or hesitation. She is also outdoorsy and active and attentive.

A typical day
I am able to take the dogs on walks in the morning and after work, then again in the evening before bed. If they have toys to play with I’m happy to do so and always give good belly rubs.

Availability
I live in Germantown but work in university city so I am out and about often. I’m available in the mornings early before work and can come by 1-2 times after. I prefer to stay at the owners house if I am walking 3+ times a day. I drive so transpiration is not an issue.
