Pet care experience
Hi, I’m Melissa! I’ve grown up with dogs and cats my entire life, started pet sitting in high school, and volunteered with Dallas Animal Services. Since I work full-time and travel, I’m not able to have a fluffy friend of my own yet - that’s where pet sitting comes in! For me, pet sitting is a way to indulge my love of animals, and to ensure that your four-legged family member is getting premium care. I believe pets are part of our families, and I will treat your pup (or kitty!) as such. My full-time job is remote, so as long as I have a WiFi connection I can provide multiple drop ins and potty breaks for your dogs and cats. I have experience with senior dogs and cats, anxious dogs, shy cats (I’ve never had a cat who wouldn’t eventually come out from hiding for me!), and pets who need daily medication. If you hire me to watch your furry family, you can expect a minimum of 2 updates a day with photos included. What are you waiting for? Treat yourself to peace of mind and your pets to a spoiled staycation!
Reviews
Sure thing:⸻Melissa was amazing with our two dogs! She kept us in the loop so well that we never had to worry. She handled their meds like a pro, and we came back to a home just as we left it. Can't recommend her enough if you're looking for someone reliable and great with pets.
I came back home to Chipper and he was happy, relaxed well fed and loved. Melissa and David even watered my plants, I am so grateful to have found such amazing people to take care of my fur baby. Thank you both!

We are so glad we’ve found Melissa! She’s been such a great dog sitter for our cockapoo, sends regular updates and is always communicative and dependable. Will definitely continue to book with Melissa whenever we are out of town.

Safety, trust & environment
I take owner’s special instructions very seriously, and I also take your pets’ health seriously. For your pet’s safety, they will never be left unsupervised in your backyard, and they will be only be fed previously approved food + treats.
Information Melissa M. would like to know about your pet
Your dog MUST be spayed/neutered. Large dogs (50+) must be leash trained in order for me to walk them. For liability reasons, I will not walk dogs with a retractable leash; the dog must have a standard nylon leash, either yours or my own. You must let me know if your dog is dog aggressive. Additionally, it’s important for me to know if your dog and/or cat has separation anxiety, if there are foods that they are not allowed to have, if they need special medications, and favorite toys. If you have cats, I’d also like to know if they are shy + have spots where they like to hide so I can do a “proof of life” check if they don’t come out right away!
A typical day
Depending on your dog’s energy level, I like to play fetch, tug of war, and chase with your pup. I love to explore on my walks, and if your pup is up for it, we’ll explore nearby nature trails and parks - if your pup has a preferred route, just let me know. I will not take your dogs to any dog parks for the safety of both your dog and myself. In addition to pet sitting, my rates include full service house sitting. Your linens will be in the washer when you get home, mail & packages will be brought in, muddy paw prints will be wiped, and trash will be taken out.

Availability
Although my other job is full-time, I do have flexibility as I am a remote worker. For house sitting, you can expect me to be there for breakfast and dinner, 2 30 min potty breaks and cuddles/playtime in the afternoon, and sleeping overnight with your pets. You can also choose to schedule drop ins as needed if you don’t require overnight stays. If you want to book housesitting services but your pet cannot be alone for >3 hours, that falls into continuous care and will be charged at $300/day.
