Sleepovers/playtime with Hobbs

Pet care experience

Currently taking on new fur babies! Here is my referral code to get a $20 off discount if you haven't booked with Rover before and this will be your first time: MELISK25141, https://www.rover.com/sit/melisk25141 Greetings! With a background in raising 8 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and over 18 years of family dog breeding, my pet journey is more than a collection of experiences—it's a commitment to genuine care. From attending births to caring for seniors, every wagging tail has added its unique touch to our family. Familiar with balancing raw food and kibble, I extend this commitment to our current furry family member, Hobbs, a friendly 3-year-old Pointer mix, who is now on raw food. His gentle nature and superb social skills make him an ideal playmate for my kids and any dog he encounters. With a focus on love and well-being, my approach stands out, ensuring positive interactions for dogs of all ages. In the heart of our home, the joy and warmth of our pet experiences are not just shared but deeply felt.

Melissa is the most caring and kindest Roverer I’ve ever worked with! She understands dogs, super confident with handling and they have a great time. She has very respectful little ones who my dogs loved playing with. She’s the perfect location for anyone headed to the casino for the day! Book her time with your buddy - you won’t be disappointed and they won’t either!

Melissa has always had a love for animals. As her sister, I can confidently say she has motherly instincts for the care and nurturing of not only her own children, but all the pets in her life. We grew up with eight dogs and she took care of one in her final years. Melissa also has experience with adopting a dog and patiently caring for it as he adjusted to a new life and new family. She understands the individual needs of each dog and genuinely cares to make sure every dog in her care is happy and safe.

I would highly recommend Melissa to care for anyone's pet. She rescued their family's current dog and from experience I can tell you he is not the same dog that he was when we first met him. He used to be a shy, timid dog but under Melissa's care he has blossomed into the friendly neighborhood dog that everybody loves to see during their multiple daily walks. He is very comfortable being around kids, other dogs, and people and is extremely friendly in every situation he is put in. Being a pet owner myself, I know the challenges of planning a trip and worrying about the best care for your pet family. Melissa's experience, patience and understanding will put you at you ease while you're away!

Ensuring your pet's comfort and safety in our home is a top priority. Although we lack a fenced yard, our spacious yard provides ample room for Hobbs and your family member to play. We also do not spray and chemicals on the property and do not use any chemicals or unnatural products inside the house. I will adhere to a leash policy for bathroom breaks, guaranteeing the safety of your furry family member. Bedtime accommodations include an XL crate, a wide pen, or feel free to bring their favorite bed, offering flexibility based on your pet's preference. Understanding the unique needs of dogs, clear communication is key. I value a trusting and honest relationship to address any concerns upfront, preventing surprises that might affect your pet or alarm my family. Your dog will seamlessly become a part of our daily activities, both indoors and outdoors, receiving the same love and attention as our beloved Hobbs. To keep you connected, expect photo updates and messages, ensuring you feel included in your pet's experience while you're away. Your pet's well-being and happiness are of the utmost importance in our home.

A typical day

After breakfast, our day transforms into a delightful adventure in our welcoming, dog-friendly neighborhood, where we embark on a leisurely stroll, discovering new scents and sights together. Upon our return, there's a special treat (usually homemade peanut butter biscuits) celebration for accomplishing the important business of going potty! The options afterward are equally enticing – a cozy lounge session or an energetic playdate with a favorite toy. The kids might look to uncover your favorite ticklish spot or offer a pampering brush session if you are up for it. As the afternoon unfolds, the yard becomes a haven for more playtime or quick potty breaks. Dinner marks the beginning of a relaxing evening, followed by another walk to close out the day. Once the little ones head off to sleep, the spotlight turns to one-on-one cuddles before heading off to bed.

I am currently not working but taking classes at home, so my schedule is very flexible. I take our dog (Hobbs) on long morning walks and afternoon breaks (so anywhere from to 2 to 3 walks a day) . All of his food is prepared by me and given two times a day. Weather permitting, I go on the trails with Hobbs on the weekends for longer walks with the family.
