I have worked at a feline boarding facility, humane society, and personally been a proud mama of; 1 hamster 3 guinea pigs 5 birds (3 current) 8 cats (3 current) 3 dogs (2 current) Countless freshwater fish And auntie to many more I am trained in proper restraint and handling, reading and understanding body language, giving medications orally, eye/ear drops, skin and I'm open to learning about ways to care for all pets, including medication administration like insulin injections. I have great attention to detail which helps me monitor for changes in behaviour, movement, temperature, bumps, lumps, parasites, hot spots and fungal infections. I am pet first aid certified with Walks N' Wags I have a certificate of feline behaviour and psychology I have completed 1 semester of Animal Care Safety and wellbeing is always my main priority with all parties involved and I do my best to keep any routine the animal is used to with their family. I also provide daily or more updates with pictures and sometimes videos included.

Melissa has taken care of our dog exclusively for the last several years and she is absolutely amazing! She is attentive, kind, knowledgeable and the most incredible furry friend caregiver you can find. Her check ins are so thorough, and she knows our dog as well as we do. This last visit with Melissa, when I arrived and was calling my dog to leave, she totally hesitated, I think our dog wanted to stay! Melissa is the best, and any pups in her care receive 100% of her attention.
Scout had another great stay with Melissa! She managed his anxiety beautifully and kept us updated about how he was doing throughout. We feel so confident leaving Scout in her care.
Melissa has taken care of our 11 year old pup several times and each time I thank goodness of our great fortune! She’s amazing! She’s incredibly attentive, her summary check ins are detailed and written with so much care and She understands all the nuances of our dog! I can’t say enough about how incredible she is! Availability
My schedule is focused solely on Rover and self care. I have no prior commitments outside of my own pets, so I have the availability for late nights and early mornings. I have my own vehicle, I am able to go to location at any time and am available for drop offs and pickups. ***Please ask about special compassionate rates for pets whose owners are experiencing medical or psychiatric conditions and are experiencing financial hardship!*** I understand things happen, and I often am available for last minute requests. I intend to spend the entire booked time on your pet, however in extreme weather, walks may be cut short for the safety and well being of your pet. Let me know if I'm able to use the remainder of the time with your pet indoors and I will complete the remaining time as such.
