Pet care experience
I have a deep love for dogs and all the personable qualities that makes each one special. I have always grown up in a house with dogs of all kinds of temperament, most of them rescued, so I know that each dog has their own set of needs and lessons they share back with us. I have worked for a dog care facility so i know how to be around all types of dogs all day but still care for each individually as well as learning what it takes to maintain a sense of authority and calm when the pack gets upset. I will make sure before working with a dog that they as well as the owner are comfortable with me and we can have a trusted and safe environment for walks and home stays.

Melissa is a dog lover. In my lexicon that is the ultimate compliment. But it's only part of the story. She was raised in a family that always had 2 dogs or more in the household. Melissa undestands dogs come with equal parts love and responsibility. That means walking them in the sun or rain, and telling them they are good dogs, even when holding the leash firmly. My dogs love her with good reason.

I would like to know if a dog has any triggers that make them anxious, if there are particular commands they respond to best. And it would be good to know how much experience they have being social with other people and dogs.
A typical day
I like to let dogs walk in parks and other dense wooded areas because it seems to be a bit more enriching for their senses. And I like to change up the route when repeatedly walking in a neighborhood so the walk is "new" each time.
