Hi! I'm Melissa, and I have been working with animals my entire life. As a young girl, my mother volunteered at the Humane Society of Huron Valley raising dogs and cats who were either too young to be adopted out or were not currently fit for shelter life. In addition, I've spent time working at PetSmart in 2017, a dog boarding facility caretaking for dogs and cats nearly daily from 2018 - 2019, and a humane society working with all different types of animals (including ones with very specific behavioral and medical needs) from 2019 - 2021. I've been working with domestic animals of many varieties for my entire career, and I don't plan on stopping! I'm extremely attuned to animal body language, especially that of dogs, and understanding a dog's needs is one of my strong suits. As a dog sitter, I'm able to put energy towards stimulating the dog and keeping them active and engaged if needed. I'm also able to be attentive to pets in other ways, including simply spending time with the dog and giving them my undivided attention. For drop-ins, I'm familiar with being able to follow feeding instructions (as learned in my professional experience) and, again, reading animal body language comes in handy. Overall, I'm a kind, compassionate person with a love for animals who has been working with dogs and cats my entire life! I'd love to take care of your furry friend for you.
