Pet care experience
I have been a pet owner for 30 years, and have pet-sat for various combinations of household and farm animals over the last 20 years. I currently have four cats and two dogs, and two older teens who help out with my house. I am a registered nurse and therefore have extensive medical knowledge in general, as well as training as a yoga teacher. I’ve been a sucker for rescuing animals for twenty years. All of my animals have been rescues, and it’s important to me to provide a safe space with ethical care for our local communities, including the fur babes of the community. I prefer to sit for animals in their comfort environment, but am willing to try out boarding at mine as well. Please don’t hesitate to ask should you have any questions or concerns.
Reviews
Melissa is the only person I trust to sit for my pets when I’m gone. She knows how important it is to me that the pets aren’t just accounted for and fed.. she takes the time and care to give each one of them individual attention and love as well. She is the best.

Information Melissa B. would like to know about your pet
How well they do with other dogs is paramount, including differences between their home, and being in someone else’s home. History of aggression or need for special supports/harnesses. Dietary needs. Medical conditions. What motivates them and what approaches to avoid. I’m sure there is more!
A typical day
Depending on the setting and where the pup lives, we may adventure in the neighborhood, or my favorite, finding some local trails to prance on. Cuddling and snuggling is always on the menu, as are healthy treats, including the occasional scoop of vanilla froyo (if agreeable).
